LOL Gandalf in Coronation St!

ITV Soap news

No, I'm not taking the piss. Sir Ian McKellan , the Sir Ian McKellan of Lord of the Rings and X Men fame, is to appear in 10 episodes of Corrie! Apparently it has been a long held ambition for him to appear on the long running soap. He will play a 'dodgy novelist' called Mel Hutchright, who is invited to the local book group. It's a big differance, from dinking at The Prancing Pony in Bree, too sitting in the Rovers with Ken Barlow! How the mighty have fallen!

Soaps are not my cup of tea, and I would rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon than watch Coronation Street. but if any of our British Warriors are interested, his first apperance will be on May 2.

... and if you're familiar with the BBC's 'Dead Ringers' series, all we need now are Alan Rickman and Brian Blessed!
