I've decided to proceed with an April Fools Day prank this year which isn't as intricate as prior ones. I think it's both tasteful and silly, though. Tuesday, April 1st is the day.

I'm avoiding the internet and keeping the radio off that day. Although, I'd have a field day if I had a radio airshift.

If it sounds to good to be true...........
it probably is.
Even so if it is only good news not GREAT news, those evil PTB @ Scifi are not to be trusted. They lie like rugs, maybe this 'good' news is disinformation?

I do wonder when the sci fi web site BG pages will, ahem, change. Ouch! Did I say that??

dvo,
hang in. The winds of change may blow swiftly. Diller just resigned today. Hopefully this won't negatively impact whatever michael is smiling about.
*thinks not*, *thinks about places that have listened to fans before, the success it brought them and smiles more*
Perhaps this year we found our own little Sci-fi empire. Our Universe is boundless...

Thinking aloud: I'm wondering if there will be more mud-slinging in the next week as some things come to a head. Some folks have visions of what can be (or what was), despite what will be. And (ahem) some folks have more time on their hands, given recent events, than others who are hard at work on a certain show. (Or is that shows? )
It's cryptic, but it has to be. Some folks are very unhappy with developments. Don't pity them, though. They sure as heck didn't give a damn about us, the fans of the Original "Battlestar Galactica" series.
Some folks want to throw wrenches into the works in a last ditch effort. Some will try. I don't believe it'll succeed. But desperate people do desperate things.
Btw: Something less cryptic: Mr. Diller's departure from Vivendi Universal has stirred various speculations here and elsewhere. There's also some concern that the (ahem) possible departure of certain folks (some of whom are rather stubborn) would be seen as negative, not helpful, to current developments. Somehow, I don't think it's completely negative. After all, when you do house-cleaning, you do have to empty the trash at some point. (That excludes Mr. Diller.)
Whatever announcements get made in the next couple of weeks will be truly interesting to read. Change is a constant, even now.

For Stallion_Cornell: Someone wants to jump into the hot tub which you mention in your story. In fact, they want to turn the heat back up. The sad part: The party already ended for them weeks ago. And the beer they brought doesn't taste any different because they think a new label can be slapped on it and bragged as the next best thing. In fact, it's been flat and tasteless for a while now. And some folks are really, really tired of the same bad brew being brought to the party each time.
And the towel they brought for hot tubbing: Cold, wet and used.

Ted Turner
He likes business ventures. I always wondered if he would look to expand his media empire since he isn't involved with Time-Warner anymore.

By the way, I'm looking forward to sitting down and simply watching. We've seen so many changes, so many rumors and so many possibilities over the past few years. So many ups and downs, too.
The bottom line: I'm a fan. I'm a viewer. It's time to get it going.

Financially, I doubt it. He lost too much $$ at AOLTimeWarner. When he left, I think he talked about wanting to buy back CNN... and lacked the funds. You're right, Paul: He definitely likes business ventures.
Does anyone know who's slated to replace Mr. Diller at VU? (That's for another discussion thread.)

I know I am taking this a bit off topic but I believe it was Time-Warner that made him dump WCW and as a result Vince McMahon bought it.

I can wait a little longer
I have to admit that I have not religously watched a weekly TV show (series) for nearly 10 years. It would be great if Galactica were the show to break that streak. I'm hoping things shape up with the production to the point where I can watch it with my kids too. That's two more added to the fan force!

Good Lord, a new wrench has been tossed into the machinery. A big one at that. More decisions are being made which threaten the "HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!" which I alluded to. (I don't feel the wrench information is being leaked to derail our hopes.)
Well, folks, if you're the praying sort, start praying. There's a difference between saving face within the Hollywood environment and doing the right thing (at least in my opinion) and staying with the new decisions.
This newly-flung wrench has jammed the normal operations of the machinery since it was recently cleaned and retuned. Some people are being given a chance again; the McDonnell and Olmos casting decisions (and ONLY those casting decisions) are the leveraging points to avoid massive changes which were otherwise planned.
To some, "cleaning house" and "adding new furniture" would look really, really bad right now. Others don't agree and think it's past due to bite the bullet and get on with it. (I agree with the latter.)
Do you save face and return to the old format? Do you retool a few things and pray it'll work?
Or do you proceed forward with sweeping changes?
Yet more decisions are coming down the pike. The landscape just changed again. Methinks it's time to take another vacation until the official news is actually released. This is a see-saw ride of epic proportions involving ego, arrogance and pride. Not all is lost yet, including my hope about the potential outcome of upcoming decisions.
This week and next: More decisions making. Hopefully no delays on the probable April announcements.
All of this boggles the mind...
Michael

Speculation: (to Michael)
Now that Diller is gone, could Bonnie Hammer feel that some of the heat is off? Whoever is taking Diller's place may need some time to come up to speed on current events, time that someone could take advantage of.

Michael, all my hopes are resting on this possible Joy Joy. There are so many reasons to get sad and disheartened in life, I always grab onto whatever is happiest and encouraging. Please let there be good news, a moment of kindness and youth-rekindled in this life would do wonders for my spirit...

And the "pro-Moore" fans are already at it
Your recent post here is starting another firestorm, Damage control, please... Which way do we run? Don't think the fans can do do nothing. It's obvious that the the pro Moore fans think they can do something. We need a target, even if it is just to vent at. Otherwise, I'm afraid a lot of ill will could raise its ugly head again.
