Default Ambrosia

Hey, so what do you guys all liken Ambrosia too? It is said to be fruitty, which sounds kinda like wine, but it seems stronger, more like a liquor or grappa. Thoughts?

(I could use some of any of it now!)

A heavily spiced, liquer mead, that can be diluted and drunk cold, or heated and sipped warm.... versatile, complex and satisfying..something that ages well in the bottle (which is why Starbuck can't believe the vintage ambrosa on the prison planet)
Not sure if it should have fizz, but I've tasted sparkiling honey wine and thats pretty good, too..

Of course in Greek mythology, Ambrosia was what you ate and nectar was what you drank if you got an invite to sup with the Gods, but they were preobably honey based too!!

Cheers,
Lara

Hmmm..... The Italians have Rosolio, which is a rose liquor with honey. Don't know about the aging process though.

Wasn't the pronunciation ''amgrosa''?
I seem to remember that from my Galactese primer book.....

I think it was more akin to mead, with a very high sugar-alchohol base .
That would explain why it went sky-high so easily when it got hit with the pulsars during the dogfight over Sinner's Planet.

Fruit sugars ignite in a volatile fashion.Look at what happens to the alchohol when they make cherries jubilee.
