They are a bit pricey! I have one from years back that I built (the original model kit) and somewhat painted, but never really completed. Always wanted to doctor up the toy version because it was pretty close to the original (even though not accurate), and its a larger scale than the model kit. Has more of a filming miniature size/feel to it.

I know just what you mean; my Polar Lights 1/1000 Enterprise is more precise than my Diamond Select toy Enterprise, yet, the DS is just grander in feel (and it lights up), so I actually spent more time on my toy's paint job than my model's!
