I know what you both mean! I went through life with blinders on so to speak, always seeing the good in people and taking them at their word. That is how I was raised in a caring community full of good hearted, hard working people who at a handshake and their word it was as good as a written contract. That's what I get growing up in a small town.
I thought all people were like that, but I found out in the "real " world people can be evil, cold and out for themselves. I had to get walked on and used as a door mat a few times before I took the blinders off. I still try to live by the values I grew up with, but I'm not so quick to trust people and take them at their word any more. It's kinda sad to be that way, but real life isn't like living in good old Mayberry!
I'm so thankful that the people I have meet at Fleets are of good nature and I can put trust in my new found friends!

That is VERY appreciated.
Being an admin means you take a fair amount of frack no matter which path you take. Someone is always unhappy and they will blame you. That's a fact of forums. YOu just have to tough it out and get the forums to a place where it can survive.
It was an ugly year. A hard road. But we made it to where we wanted to go. WE got good people. We have fun again.
And Tom can happily enjoy his semi retirement. |
