suggestion:
It might make it easier on micheleh if you don't put anything in front of the person's handle.

(and micheleh: if you have MSExcel, this could be somewhat easy to tabulate)

Micheleh: have we heard from Michael if he has time to be on the council? I think that's why we were suggesting the "advisor" thing. (and I'd want to change my vote if he was willing to be on the council.)

No, not yet. I've seen posts by him today, so apparently there is either no time or no interest. Anyone who wants to edit/update their list to include a vote for Michael as councilor, go ahead- if he does decline, we can just go to the first alternate.

Cool. I'll give everyone the chance to update, then retally.

You know, even though we only have 12 slots, *everyone* who posts here is a councillor, becuase this site IS the voice of the real BSG and it's fans. So I declare everyone at Fleets an honorary councillor! We'll just have a pres and 11 of us to warm the council chairs.

Kristi,

I appreciate your vote, but I wasn't nominated, which is fortunate since I probably wouldn't have had time to serve anyway. No matter, like many of us, I'll continue to do what I can for the REAL BG and a REAL continuation.

It just seems that a trend has been established now, and if it is as it appears, well, it just drew that question to mind.

That's fine, ask away. I just want to know if it's anythign I can answer.

As for Milton and co being on the council, of course not. The council is to establish a voice for the continuation fans. With OWD as President, that's a good start.

Default Seriously Micheleh

Forgive my attitude here on this, it's not against you, so please don't take it as such, OK.

It's just my Trust level, especially considering the level of infiltration of the Milty/Moore types around, is way down.

There seems to be a steady move afoot to get as many Shills in place as possbile. So far, it appears that a much bigger power play is coming.

Do you remember a few years ago, what happened to the Fan Based Trek sites?

When Paramount swooped in and pretty much closed down most of the independants?

Well, with the Shills in place, it just makes me a tad nervous....

This vote is for a movement to revive support for the old show over the new one. It doesn't have anything directly to do with this forum's "council"

LSF,

Since many here, myself included, have expressed a complete "hands-off" (no watching the abomination) approach, what possible harm could come to Universal/Sci-Fi if they wanted to silence the critics. They may feel that they would have nothing to lose. (Please, don't misunderstand me, I'm looking at this third-person).

The one thing that astounds me is that Universal would even consider "writing us off" when it's common knowledge that "they need us more than we need them".

Oh well, just some random thoughts on an otherwise uneventful Wednesday evening.

What you say is true, However, here is my Prediction, should the current trends go unabaited.

First, within the next few months, and this will probably be a slow, gradual approach. One by one, the Old Guard at SciFi BBoard wil begin to be banned, and deleted. Posts questioning those bannings will be summarily "Moderated Away". What will be left is a scarce few Continuation Supporters, and a whole chorus of Milty/Moore Supporters, shouting them down, and telling everyone that Moore's Production is the best thing since sliced bread, and that the Continuation Supporters are nothing but a bunch of 70's draw back with a desire for disco hair, and such.

Secondly, the steady infiltration of the various bboards by the MooreFans and Milty Shills will result in some bannings of the various overly vocal Old Guard, and the slow marginalization of the rest. There will also be a move to encourage more Moore Fans to join these other boards.

Most of all that will be a precursor to Moore/Eick/and Hammer using the void of Defence against it, the seizing of www.battlestargalactica.com, and www.battlestarpegasus.com, both of which would be made considerably more "Moore Friendly" (That is, until the airing of the Mini, where it will be made completely Pro-Moore, with most references to the TOS either eliminated, or moved to a difficult to access portion of the site, or a "subscription only" section)

Also, following the lead of what Paramount did to the Fan Based Trek Sites, all the TOS Friendly sites will either be turned Pro-Moore, or issued cease and desist orders, and threatened with Copyright violation suits.

Now, with all the infiltration by the MooreFans and Milty Shills, of course, the Pro-Moore direction will be urged, because "they just want to bring the fans together".

Lastly, one thing I expect to see fairly soon, is that Milty will be chosen to head up the "Official Battlestar Galactica Fan Club" for the Moore Abomination.

OK, I'm getting off the Nostradomous Soap box now...

About the post on 'this is not council voting'- I had my definition wrong. It is council of 12 voting, just not CF council voting. Lol!

Jewels,

The term FUBAR originated in WWII as

"Fouled up beyond all recognition" or "reality" or "reason"

except they usually used a more explicit term for 'Fouled.' Since GI teams often carried BAR's (Browning Automatic Rifles) that sometimes fouled, the BAR was sometimes FUBAR. The GI's and others also applied this term of endearment to anything and everything that was messed up. Example: RDM's Galactica.

Lucian

P.S. I think "reality" is more modern since it was what many people used in the 70's.
