The Complete Battlestar Galactica cards
Just prior to Colonial Fleets shutting down (a very sad day indeed... ) I think there was a news post re: the newly released Complete Battlestar Galactica cards. I think it mentioned something about the wrappers--save them and send them somewhere for somesuch reason. I only skimmed the article and planned to read it more fully after I picked up the cards but...well, no more Colonial Fleets news articles. (Again with the )
Anyone remember such an article?
And did anyone else pick up this rarther impressive card set? Soooo many pics I never would have thought they would include. (Not enough of Colonel Tigh, though, IMO!)

I bought two boxes! I haven't even finished opening them yet.
I remember that thread, and was being careful not to tear the wrappers because of it.
I don't have the address or even remember who posted it
This sounds like a job for Tom...........
The cards are amazing!

Amberstar- Two boxes?! I SO envy you! You make me want to go out and buy another myself! Did you get to the packs that have your signature cards? I landed Audrey Landers and John Dullaghan--and of the beautiful "Colonial Warriors" cards, I have Sheba, Bojay, Starbuck and {gasp} Commander Cain.
Jewels & Shiningstar- These cards are about as "must buy" as it gets for a true blue BG fan. Save those pennies!

I've got all the cards except the autographed ones and the sketchafex ones in a nice binder with the Commander Adama costume card a couple of promo cards and Matt Busch box topper.
It really is a great set and worth getting, just don't get ripped off!

I purchased two boxes for $49 each on eBay three weeks ago; got them in over the weekend, and got:
four autograph cards:
Dirk Benedict, Terry Carter, Laurette Spang, and Lloyd Bochner
four artifex cards, and one rare sketchifex card (Ovion) Those are 1 in every three boxes. The rare autograph card is Kent McCords, which is packed 1 per case.
I also have several complete sets, if anyone is interested?
Also, if you are interested in trading, I need four of the Colonial Warriors cards, and 1 card for the Galactica 1980 subset. I have a few extra Galactica 1980 and Colonial Warrior cards to trade.
The thread concerning the wrapper redemption has been unfortunately pulled by scifihobby.com

Hi,
I was the person who placed the article about the wrappers. It was just before CF went so I think your all talking about little old me !!!!!
A quick recap, and some card set news :
Rittenhouse Archives have an offer whereby if you save wrappers you can send them to them and they will give you a point total. Collect 'enough' points and you can choose from a range of reward cards.
There was a BG card, for 2000 points (note 1 point per wrapper) However, as Jayworld rightly points out, the BG card was been pulled. It is not known if it will be replaced with anything.
There are other cards to do with other sets, many for Xena, however to get the good ones you are talking about anywhere up to 5000 points.
I am collecting the wrappers, and if other fans would chip in to help me I'd be very grateful. If people would be so kind to help out, please send them to :
Daniel Earnshaw
PO Box 177
Forest Hall
Newcastle
NE12 6BG
Uk
Now for the news :
There will be a SECOND Battlestar Galactica card set for this company !
Autograph Cards include :
Anne Lockhart
Jane Seymour
Alex Hyde White
Sarah Rush
and
Glen Larson !
More costume cards are also possible, as are further chase cards.....
Talks are underway with others.......
I am always MORE than happy to answer any questions I can about the BG cards, trading cards in general or help out. Helping me on the wrappers is appreciated, but I offer my friendship and advise to anyone who is interested in collecting the set.....
Daniel

Daniel-
Thanks for the great news re: another set of BG cards. That would be INCREDIBLE. I hope they spend a little more time editing, however, as I've come across more than a couple typos--including the misspelling of Cain (as "Caine). I'd sure love to see more cast member cards of supporting characters like Omega, Brie and even Spectre...
Keep us updated!
Also, I don't know how long it takes for mail to get from Tucson, Arizona to Newcastle but you can be on the look-out for an envelope containing my BG box's worth of wrappers. I'll drop them in the mail, probably around Tuesday.

Dear JLHurley,
Mt GREAT thanks for the wrappers you have said you will send. I am very Grateful. I'm still a long way off my target number, but with the kind support of people like you, I may just make it and I am very very grateful....
I have sent suggestion after suggestion to Rittenhouse, and had replies saying they found them interesting.... Although you'll have to forgive me for not remembering who Brie is ???????
Thanks again so much for the wrappers....
Best Wishes,
Daniel

Small piece of info for people.....
The reason Jane Seymour's auto cards weren't included in the BG card set was because she suffered an injury to her hand and could not sign....
But there are to be in the second set as mentioned above....

Thanks for the information Ernie!
I've finally opened both boxes and I have some doubles of G-80, Came up with two Noah Hathaway signature cards, two Starbuck & Sheba warriror cards, and two Starbuck ArtiFEX cards.
I was lucky enough to get an Ovion Sketch card by Warren M. and ArtiFEX Raiders and Vipers cards.
The warrior cards I was lucky too Tigh, starbuck, Adama, Sheba, Bojay, and Cain. The other Signed card was LLoyd Bochner. No Apollo though
Would anyone want to trade an Apollo Warrior card for a Sheba or Starbuck??
Thanks

Hi all,
A site you may find of interest is the messageboard on scifihobby.com
The direct link is :
http://www.scifihobby.com/bboard/
This isn't really a site for trading, but more talking and putting suggestions up. I would be very grateful if people would reply to my post about
'colonial warriors requests'
and add your support to this project which I have suggested and I hope will be considered.... You support could make the second set even better......
AmberStar : Might you be kind enough to send me your wrappers to the above address ? Only if you feel like it, but I would be very very grateful...
I'm pleased many people seem to be enjoying the set, I'll keep posting news as and when I get it.....
Best Wishes,
Ernie

Hi all,
Thanks to those who have voiced support for my ideas for more colonial warriors cards on this messge board.... On;y one problem, our voices would be heard a lot more if you reply to my posting on www.scifihobby.com/bboard
I realise this is a little bit of a fuss to sign up for, but I thinks its the best way for the idea to be taken note of. I know this topic has been brought to the attention of the guy who assembles the sets (I know ! I e-mailed him about it !!!!)
You shows of support there could really count for something....
Best Wishes
Daniel

Daniel-
I dropped off my box worth of wrappers at the post office this morning. They said it will take a week to ten days to get to you. Post a quick message here when you get them so I can toss the receipt.
BTW, Brie was played by Janet Louise Johnson and was one of the shuttle pilots who (quickly) trained to be a viper pilot in LOST PLANET OF THE GODS. She was also, I believe, in WAR OF THE GODS--a quickie appearance, though, when she was abducted by the Ship of Lights along with Greenbean...who also deserves a card, IMO, along with Giles. Greenbean was played by Ed Begley Jr. (who went on to do a heck of a lot more than here-and-there appearances in BG), and I'm embarrased to say I can't recall who played Giles other than he went on to appear regularly in MAGNUM, P.I. If a second series of BG cards is being considered, please suggest these characters, will you?

Larry Manetti, who played "Rick" on Magnum, was Giles in BSG. (He was also in Black Sheep Squadron with Robert Conrad, too).

Hi JLHurley,
Thanks so much for your kindness in posting the wrappers.....
I'll pass on the suggestion next time I speak with 'the powers that be' ......
Or perhaps better, would be for you and others to visit www.scifihobby.com/bboard and post about this yourself in response to my original 'colonial warriors requests' posting....
To show more than just me is interested in more colonial warriors cards !
Lets see what we can do....
