Default Imperious Leader Concept Art

Thanks to Sandy for hosting htis

The Cylons were never known for their artistic endeavours; every aspect of their way of life was built around the centerpiece of their nation's ideology: Conquest.

But it proved to be vanity that led to a thousand yahren war .

The last Imperious Leader of the age of the Organic Cylons, Golgoth, was once a mighty warrior. But time caught up with him; he was ravaged by innumerable diseases in the last ten years of his old life; among them a slow deterioration of his eyesight, and a condition that roughly approximated the human condition known as arthtritis. His desire to lead the fight at the front of his forces rather than from the end ruled all; his vanity also stemmed from a simple self-preservation instinct; the title of Imperious Leader was highly coveted.

So when whispers began in his palace of Golgoth being seen with a human (a race they themselves knew little of, but regarded with ever growing consternation as they declared war on the Hasaris) there was great concern. Especially among his guard, who showed an uncharacteristic, unnamble fear in the presence of this being. And soon, Golgoth showed a new hand to his people; a hand unhindered by flaring joints. They watched as this single appendage allowed him to slay their mightiest warrior; he caught his blade with his hand, wrenching it from the Warrior's grip, and slaying the soldier with his own blade.

He declared that he was going to convert most of his body to mechanics; from this day forward, Cylons will be bred to be converted to machine.

Over time, there was no more breeding, after the last resistance to this forced change was crushed. The reptiles were gone; the Cylons were Cylons in name only.

And the creature who roamed Golgoth's halls for a time laughed all throughout the war at the imminent extermination of all mankind at the hands of his creations.
