Revival talk
Going to the con was wonderful and it gave me a fresh new perspective.
Right now all the protesting everyone is doing is pointless. The mini IS the only game in town. nothing matters till it airs. The studios are ignoring fans until the show debuts. Everything in BG is in stasis until then.
And when the show airs, it don't matter HOW the mini does. Success or failure is irrelevant. It ONLY matters if people still love the original.
so protests are kinda moot right now.
But after Dec8th what WILL make a difference is if the studios hear that YOU want to PAY your $8 to see the original return. Would you pay your $8 and do it again and again and then buy the movie's dvd. Hearing that you would happily spend your money on their product is what counts.
Remember...all they care about is money. If they hear you will make them rich, the studios WILL give you your Galactica any way you want it.

I missed the con, but the mini isn't the only game in town. If the DVD sells well, it will help. If the mini tanks, and the sales of the DVD are limited to just the 50 to 60 peole on this board (stretching to make a point) then in becomes moot. If the mini tanks and DVD sales are a bonanza, then the suits will sit up and take notice.
That said, you are right. The only thing that will matter is will people be willing to spend cold hard cash for a movie. Strong DVD sales, I would think, would be a great support for that argument.

I agree that the mini-series is a done deal no matter what and there's no sense in wasting anymore energy on that.
What is Richard Hatch's status as far as getting the "Great War of Magellan" produced? Can he use younger version of BSG characters without getting sued? Anybody know?

Maybe a good thing to do then is to save your DVD receipts and send a copy of them in with any future post mini mailing campaigns. Or go out and buy something TOS related after the mini airs, so the recipt has the post mini date on it to prove you are still willing to pay cash.

I think the DVD sales ALREADY have their attention. (Oh! did anyone check Billboard this week?)
Something about backorder with major retailers on the box set.... hmmm.

Yes and yes! Glen even said that the mini doing OK could help his movie. But he's done lots of spinning in Hollywood in the past so he can turn ducks into lemonade if the urge strikes, I suppose. (I consider the mini to be a lemon, like some less than fine automobiles).
