Thumbs up I Don't Think We Have A Problem

I looked at circuit City. com and the sets are on backorder. I called up Borders and they didn't receive them. The salesperson said that the date may have been pushed back. I modified this post a bit since the sets are out and sales look like they are through the roof.

HELL YEA as Stone Cold would say.

No you're only partially right. The sets are available but I think some retailers may have been overlooked on this first shipment.Consider this scenario.Sets were originally limited to 100,000 sets limited release.Remove limit on set order.Retailers now up orders to sell units in stores. You can't possibly cover all the orders that have come in,over the net and thru the retailers and have them all in the stores at the same time.I work at a Target in California and we don't have our shipment yet either. However they do show up as coming to the store?unless that's the amazon.com listing.Anyhow if I wait I could probably pick it up at work within a month!Looks like Best Buy is a good place to go just to check it out. They put it in their sunday ad.So the sets are out there, just have to find a store that has them NOW.

Obvously (to me, anyway) that salesman doesn't have a clue.

They're being received by the people who ordered them from Amazon, DVDPlanet, etc. Others have found them at other stores (always in short supply, however). That means it's released.

Perhaps Universal is behind on the manufacturing end (I'd like to think Universal was taken by surprise by the level of interest, and are now scrambling to make up the difference).

Just another sign of how much interest there is in a "forgotten" show - and how Universal dropped the ball.

I think its merely a matter of it being distributed.

Newbie here... I recommend going to Costco (if you have one in your area).

Frankly, I only went there to pick up Indiana Jones since I figured I would have to make a trek (no pun intended) to Best Buy to find it. I figured the Galactica boxed set would be a limted release... boy was I wrong.... They had 12 Galactica boxed sets availible when I walked in. Grabbed Indy, grabbed Galactica, and I was off.

BTW, out of the corner of my eye I noticed a couple of other people taking a look at the new set... ya can't help it, that Cylon head just screams out "BUY ME!!!"

Costco had Them?!And they didn't even list them on the web site. But conundrum7g is right. It is the distribution.I didn't even think suncoast would have them. Now it's more like pick a store and hope they haven't sold out of their first shipment.Or if they've gotten it yet.

I went to best but today in greensboro nc and i got there at 10:30. theyhad about 8 in a display in the front of the store. I picked one up andthe saleman noticed what i was holding, remarked that he has already sold 5 in the first half hour.
I explained to him all the goings on about battlestar and how the new mini sux and goto battlestargalactica.com for more information. he seemed truly interested.
as I talked to him a woman about 40 came up behind us and saw the box set. she flipped out, sayiong she loved the show, she then placed it in her cart.
the salesman muttered maybe they should have ordered more. that 7 box sets including mine that was bought in about the first half hour. man thats cooking.

Adama: "Let the word go forth...."

The word has gone forth, the DVD's have been released; the silent majority is about to make its feelings known to all.

The time between now and early December should be most interesting.

$74 at Wal-Mart. Target & K-Mart showed no signs of having them. I remember reading here that K-Mart was going to offer the set but the store I went to looked like it was remodeling the area since they didn't even have the (over-priced) Indy box set out.
