Watched Cowboy Bebop The Movie

It was a little slow to begin with, but about a third into it I got really into it. It contains one of the best chase/dogfight sequences I've ever seen and the backgrounds were fantastic.

The lighting was also incredible, you could tell what time of day it was, and the score once again was very catchy, with good use of different musical styles.

Is the series this good?

I love Bebop. The storytelling alternates between dark and comedic, the characters are great, and the music is phenomenal. You have to see it if you love anime.

I've never watched "Bebop" - I've considered renting the series, but I don't have any info on it. I know that you like it - care to share some background info?

The animation was a tiny bit better in the movie. But its basically the same bebop.

The series varies, but on a whole is pretty good. Its a universe similiar to Firefly with humans from earth having colonized many planets and in the process reverted in the frontier to a western existance. It also revolves round a unlikely crew of unique characters aboard an old used and worn out ship.

I guess you can say that Bebop is like an animated version of Firefly.

Also the OAV series has a great story arc. And each character has a nice arc too.

Its a very popular choice amoung anime fans.

Btw- Bryan, it's on cable tv. The movie is on saturday afternoon on Action West. And in the wee morning hours its on Sunday on Cartoon Network. Around 1:30 AM and 4:30 AM.
