I HAVE to get the disc in May - we're planning a family night LOTR marathon sometime in June and we just gots to have it, Precioussss!

May isn't so bad.... We've had to wait until August for the last 2 LOTR DVD releases. Maybe the "Ultimate" edition will come out earlier too...

I can't wait until the extended version is released, but I will have to, there's no way I can justify buying both after just spending $650.00 on a plane ticket. :sigh:

One little note,we just watched the last half tonight (truly awe-inspiring, so much like the books). At the end, Frodo bid goodbye to his friends, trying to explain why he must continue his adventures rather than stay with his friends.
My family asked me why. I tried to explain that, once the adventurous spirit has stirred your soul, there's no going back. You've got to keep chasing that elusive rainbow.
My daughter looked up at me, I think because she knows how deep that spirit runs in me. She asked, "Since you are so much like that, why don't you leave us?"
