Default Any validity?

O.k., I've been reading all the posts over at Lang's board for laughs. I won't go into great detail, because this isn't the place to discuss trolls, but one claim he made really bugs me, and I want to have it confirmed or disproven. He claimed that DeSanto offered to make an animated continuation of TOS, and Universal refused because it would be "confusing" to the masses.

If this is the case I might even jump onto the Universal bashing band wagon (although not at this point). Although, if it is true I don't think it would be over yet. So long as Larson has the movie rights, couldn't DeSanto buy them from him and do the project anyway? It would help alot if he went to the Japanese. They have the best animation anyway, plus their budgets are lower ("Ghost in the Shell" was made for about $4 million, I think Desanto could muster that). Of course the Japanese also tend to be very dark, which might aggevate TOS fans even more, and BG continues to slip to the dark side.

Anyway, what do we know about this?

Mustex,
Read Jayworld's report on what Richard said at a Con he attended. Just a sec. *goes to open another window* http://www.colonialfleets.com/forums...ead.php?t=8423 there ya be.

I have to move you to discussion, hun. I think its interesting Langy picked up a tidbit he could have only have heard in person or off CF or CA. *Waves to Andrew just to say "hey"*

P.S. I think you will find kindred spirits in the thought that it wouldn't be confusing to have 2 different BGs going at once. Uni did have a moment in turning that down.
