Default A novice and a Beginner . . .

Hello all.

Probably like many of you, I went and bought PS2 just for this game. I haven't had much time to play though because of a fulltime job, a demanding school schedule, and a demanding young family that I think asks more than I can provide sometimes.

Anyway, I have not played any flight simulators before and wonder if some of you might give me some tips on how to get used to handling this viper so that I can move forward faster in the game. . .

Any comments?

Ethan

This game is HARD!!!!!!

I plan to get back to it. But like you, its difficulty factor combined with the fact that I can't devote all day to it makes the learning curve out of my reach.

Its set aside for now. But one day I may have an answer on how to beat this. Till then, I'll just listen and learn from others who fared better than me.

Default Handling the vipers...

Up is down...down is up.

Be mindful of your energy reserves. Heavy uses of lasers in the rapid fire mode, and extensive use of turbos will drain your reserves quickly in the older Vipers. By the time you get the Viper Mk III, then that all changes, and you can do some more good.

Always make liberal use of your primary target button. Your primary targets will have white circles around them. The brighter the circle, the closer they are.

Also, as you play the game, the further you go, and the more advanced fighter you get, you will be able to replay past parts of the game with your advanced Vipers...thus improving your completion times, shot accuracies, and the like.

It is more arcade than sim....but it combines both to make fans of both styles happy.

Respectfully,
Martok2112
