Default Chronicles of Narnia - The Silver Chair

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1223947/

It's listed as "In Development". I realize that this means nothing at this point in time and whether this is pursued or not, will largely depend on how well "Dawn Treader" does but, it is nice to see that someone is thinking about it.

I agree! Silver Chair is fairly dark story. Not too dark, but dark enough to pull people in sort of like the Harry Potter movies did when they went in that direction. I actually think we have a better chance at seeing all the films being made now that they are out of Disney's hands.

I hope so. I'd really like to see this series run all the way through. There are several surprises and twists, including the series climax.

Oh absolutely! The story definitely goes to some pretty interesting places. The Silver Chair has a sort of spooky sense about it that I really dig. The Horse and His Boy will be a lot of fun but the last two will be fantastic if they don't chicken out!

Oh, that's encouraging, though!

I want to see the entire series completed also. The Last battle is my absolute favorite, not just of the Chronicles, but quite possibly my favorite book of all time.

I've been hearing rumblings that "The Silver Chair" is tentatively scheduled for release in 2015 and that the next movie may be "The Magician's Nephew"!

I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy about this. The producers are going to confuse the viewers by not completing the Caspian trilogy (Prince Caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair) before going forward. I know that they're more concerned with rate of return than the little things that mean something to those whose behinds are in the theater seats but, come on now!

This franchise is NEVER going to be Potter so, don't try to be. Gear your expectations AND budget toward more modest returns and just tell a good story (like C.S. Lewis did) and you'll get the attendance.

"Build it and they will come"

2015? Seriously? That's a LONG time between flicks.

That's what confuses me. They have 2014 listed as the release time for The Magician's Nephew which is what seems to be the normal time frame for them, every 3 years. But then, The Silver Chair is listed as 2015.

Here's the listing from IMDB:

Source: http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=narnia

21. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew (2014)
22. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair (2015)

I'll still be scrounging around for articles, stories, etc, about it.

Found a little bit of news, dated recently - December 5, 2013.

Sounds hopeful:

The Silver Chair has a Screenwriter

Finally! I was totally worried they were going to drop it completely after Voyage.

Me, too. I guess Walden Media is out.

Just wait and see, for now, I guess.
