The best quote in in the second review is best..

"Poor Seymour. The thing is… the show shows that people in the Porn industry seem to have a more professional and real nuanced sense about themselves than the characters in the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA series… "

Seymour Butts would be a better Apollo than the actor those nimrods hired. I really can’t believe I liked a reality show about a Porn Star looking for love and respect more than I did BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. God they fracked up BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!
Ain't it cool news was pretty harsh.

Default Salvaging Disaster?

If many more of these reviews crop up, will we see Ron Moore (either voluntarily or "volunteered" by higher ups) to put some TOS elements into the backstory back. In an attempt to salvage this.

mAybe.

But keep in mind, the original series died despite good ratings because of huge production costs. That was on ABC a huge rich broadcast channel. And this probably will make a big splash, but will have poor repeat audiences. Add to that its on a cable channel which can't afford shows better than scare tactics. Not unless they do to SG1 what they did to Farscape.

If it survives, it will need MASSIVE changes.

btw- remember, the channel was sold and will be under new ownership come spring.

OUCH!

CRIKEY! That review was BRUTAL!

But I like it Part of me wants this mini to succeed, if only to put the Galactica name back into the public eye. That can only be helpful for future movie possibilities.

Yeah, Harry butchered this show in his review and even though I don't always agree with him, a lot of fans listen to his rants. His negative review will carry a lot of weight with the Internet folks and may lead to more damning reviews by other critics.

The next few weeks should be interesting to watch, as more and more reviews start to pop up. I hope "Bonnie von Hammer" and her facist thugs over at Sci-Fi cringe with each and every review.

I missed this scather the first time through. Harry's actual choice of words is rather comical in light of the 2 productions he talked about--both sex-focused, one for obvious reasons and one because they didn't know how to write a better story.

I agree Michael, this thing is way too far into production to be introducing major changes now. Any tacked-on homages to the original would only highlight the inherent weaknesses of the mini.

Sure, we dislike what Moore has done with the remake, but he does have talent as a writer. How could he have got it this wrong?

Looking forward to my FedEx copy of the mini soon after airing time over there! we'll break out the beers and have a good laugh. Or cry. Whatever.....
