sorry for the brief absence but hubby had a christmas party monday night for work. The party was being held in a restaurant near my parents so we stayed with them and then came home last night!

Hey Braxiss and Bsg,
Are you by any chance referring to that earth shattering THX certification logo crescendo at the lead end of many DVDs??? You should see us scrambling desperately for the receiver volume control (aloi!!! where the frack is it!!!???) before the dag nab thing shakes the plaster off the ceiling!!!
Thankfully, they have changed it on the newer DVDs...! Speaking of ceilings, how come there isn't any decibel ceiling limit on mass produced CDs and DVDs??? You put in one, and it's so quiet ya can't hear it without turning your amp/receiver up to its max. Then you plug in another (even from the same studio), and lo and behold, having forgotten you turned the darn thing up, the new one is so loud your ears ring for days and ya gotta practically turn the receiver volume off!!!
Inquiring daggits wanna know...

muffit you got that right. The other night hubby and I were watching Master and Commander and we had to nearly blast our tv to hear the actors but had to turn it down during the battle scenes.

Went to see Phantom of the Opera at the movies this weekend. It was well worth the price of two tickets totalling $12. Nearly cried a couple of times.

I saw Flight of the Phoenix this weekend. I haven't been to a movie theater in almost FOUR years & it was worth the wait! I will be buying the soundtrack, too, it had me tapping my toes!

Got a call from my mom late this morning. An old friend of my late step Grandma just passed away last weekend while she was visiting her daughter. This lady was one of the nicest people we had the pleasure of knowing. My mom and I kept in touch with her after Gram died as we all belonged to a charity organization. The wake is tonight and mom knowing that I wouldn't be able to make it there said that she was going with another friend of ours and that she would give my condolences to the family for me.

Its my turn to get dumped on now. Entire state is under a winter storm warning. Supposed to get 3-6 in. of snow and ice on top of that!

Glad you liked the movie, muffit! How are you enjoying your white winter in the new house?
Speaking of which, I just checked the weather web site & it said it isn't gong to snow in my zip code until 3 AM tomorrow, so what the heck is that white stuff on the ground?!

Know what you mean uno. We were not supposed to be getting it until about 9 a.m. but I looked out my window at about 8 a.m. and the white stuff was falling already. Been getting snow showers for most of the day! The worst is supposed to get here later in th evening!

hey all from snowy Connecticut!
Yes, we are getting our first major Winter Storm here. And in my neck of the woods I may see up to a 1/2 a foot of the white stuff before we get the ice also!

hubby had to go into work because they didn't close down even though they knew it was coming and it was going to be bad!
I think we got about 4 or 5 inches here from this storm.
