A BSG update should have been easy!!! - Page 2

Stevew, I know there is a colonial art section here in CF, and I just took another look through it. I just think your work should be seen outside of CF. Is it an rule that you can't post to the general "3DG finished art forum" since you basically have your own forum here?

I would feel a little weird lifting your links here and posting them myself in the finished art forum under a thread something like "I didn't make this, but have a look!" But if you really have no problem with that then I will do it. (I would open a thread in the general sci-fi finished art forum here at (the other levels of) 3DG of your (and Fabio's) Libr picture above along with the link to your radiosity gallery artwork.)

So, do I really have your permission to do this? You can say "no thanks" and it won't hurt my feelings so don't feel pressured. It's not my (art)work afterall. If you all have something bigger and better in the works, then I'll step back. I just see Michael and folks whispering about "some things starting" on March 31st and sense that people outside of 3DG seeing your stuff would be another one of those little thorns in the paws of the excutives who wish to dismiss all having to do with the original BSG.

Yeah or nay?

And to add one more thing to my rant a few posts back...

Additional ponderings for the PTB in charge of the BSG update:

Box office-wise, Star Trek:Nemesis was a "disappointment" as you surely know. Enterprise is also struggling a bit more than expected. Anyone investigating why the trek franchise is floundering will quickly find that one chief complaint of the fans is that the new arms of the Trek universe are ignoring too much continuity. Many people who watch trek religiously were able to blow holes through Nemesis's left, right, front, back, ventral and dorsal. Same with Enterprise -- and it appears that this is not a good thing as far as the franchise's success goes. Trek is paying the price for ignoring a word that starts with "continu". It would seem wiser for you to learn from Trek's mistake rather than repeat it, don't you think?

Will, As I said you are free to do what ever you want to advance our cause. I work at least 12/7 and have for a long time and simply don't have the time to do more outside of making models and keep a roof over my head LOL. I am sure there are a number of folks here that would participate in any good idea that promotes our cause.

Okay, I spent a couple of hours working on it. I've learned that I'm not very good at dealing with those Radiosity URL tags. Some of the links (to the big images) seemed to be dead, so I used the "inside" (right-mouse-button-click) image URLs for those, but they seem kind of shaky to me. Also, the thumbnail pics only seem to appear half the time; don't know why. (I put the base URLs next to them to play things safe, but...)

I hope that you like what I was able to put together, hope you deem it a worthwhile undertaking. I understand that you are very busy and I don't mean to start taking time away from things you need to do. Maybe you could drop a note to Fab or Hito to inspect/correct the URL thing, as I've done the best I can with that I think. I also worry that I missed giving proper credit to someone; I know 3DG likes that sort of thing to be clear, and justifiably so.

Again, I did the best I could, and hope it will be considered worthwhile. Here's the link to the page:

Like it says in the page itself, you guys all, of course, have my permission to change it however you feel fit. And when you consider that page ready, perhaps I will start a new thread here at CF to let everyone here know about it if no one else has done so by that point.
