Atlantis-DS9 similarities
I was just noticing that the Stargate Atlantis show has alot in common with Deep Space 9
SG-A: Atlantis takes place on a city-sized former spaceship.
DS-9: Deep Space Nine takes place on a city sized-space station.
SG-A: Atlantis was built by another race called the Ancients.
DS-9: DS9 was built by the cardassians
SG-A: All the controls are in an alien language.
DS-9: All the controls are in an alien language.
SG-A: Atlantis has a gate that opens up a wormhole to our home galaxy.
DS-9: DS9 is stationed by a wormhole to another part of the galaxy.
SG-A: Atlantis has shuttles called Puddlejumpers.
DS-9: DS9 has shuttles called Runabouts.
SG-A: The locals are from a once great technological civilization ravaged by the Wraiths.
DS-9: The locals are from a once great technological civilization ravaged by Cardassians.
SG-A: if you have a worm in you, you are either a Jaffa or a Goa'uld
DS-9: If you have a worm in you, you are a Trill.
SG-A: The locals revere the Ancients
DS-9: The locals revere the Founders
SG-A: Colm Meany plays a guest star on three episodes
DS-9: Colm Meany plays Chief Miles O'Brien
SG-A: Sexy local alien girl named Teyla
DS-9: Sexy local alien girl named Kira (though Dax was sexier)
SG-A: Annoying (but funny) Doctor named McKay
DS-9: Annoying (but just annoying) Doctor named Bashir
SG-A: It's a darker spinoff of a hit show called Stargate Sg-1 whish is a spinoff of a hit movie called Stargate
DS-9: It's a darker spinoff of a hit show called Star Trek: Next Generation which was a spinoff of a hit series called Star Trek.
hmmmmmm........
I know its totally different... but there are alot of parallels to start off with.

Those are great observations Thomas! Atlantis certainly seems to have a very big canvas to tell stories with. While I don't think the show is "darker" than SG-1, it is different. I like the charaters and the production values are top-notch. This show will certainly ease the pain when SG-1 comes to an end.

But which Dax?
I vote the DeBoer Dax as the pinacle of fabulous Dax babes.

Cool! I didn't kow he was going to guest star in SG-Atlantis. That is going to be awesome, wonder what character he's going to play.

I like the older dax more. But ...I am old enough to date her...not that she would even notice me in a room.
