Default For serious fans of Space:1999...

Hey everyone -

I keep forgetting to mention something to those of you that really loved Space:1999.... There is a publisher by the name of Powys Media that has been publishing brand new (and original) novelizations of Space:1999. When Powys Media first started, the books were only available online, but they may have been added to Amazon.com's order list by now.

At this time, 4 original novels have been published. The most current book in pre-order status is the Year 2 Omnibus, which is a collection of 24 novelized episodes that were penned by Michael Butterworth in the 70's.

For 2005, there is an audiobook of Resurrection (the first original novel), read by Barry Morse. Shepherd Moon, an anthology of short fiction,
The Year One Omnibus of collected, revised novelizations and Martin Willey's Space: 1999 Companion

Another novel to be announced shortly...

From a reader's standpoint, I have read the first 2 novels - they are excellently written and go into great depth of the characters from the 70's television show. Pricing is a bit steep for a paperback novel as they are in the 15.00 to 20.00 range, but worth every penny for the serious Space:1999 collector.

If you would like to read more about the books and what's coming up, you can check it out at the Space:1999 page on the Powys Media website:

Best regards,
Bryan
