A BSG Continuation Movie Still Likely
Stu Phillips responded to an inquiry of mine at MediaBlvd today concerning the possibility of a BSG continuation movie.
Stu said he "had lunch with Glen Larson about 5 or 6 weeks ago. He says that he is still working on getting BSG on the big screen. As yet, nothing definite." Stu then wished Happy Holidays to all of the BSG fans.
Will keep you updated as to new developments.

And it looks like Hatch still wants one too.

Here's the part:
The jury's out, but I hope that they give this show [TNS] enough time for the characters and relationships to develop and become whatever they're going to be. And that will hopefully inspire other Battlestar spin-offs and projects. It would be so cool to do a miniseries based on the original series. The fans would really love that, and they certainly deserve it.

One BSG Continuation movie. Just add ambrosia. No re-imagining required.

Thanks for the news KR. Happy New Year to you too.
Stu's a great guy, isn't he? So many of the people that worked on the original series are just wonderful human beings.
It doesn't surprise me one bit that Richard would still have something hopeful to say about a continuation someday. He at the very least understood what the heart of the show was about: hope.

That sounds so cool, I haven't think of something like that. Scifi is doing things like that with Stargate. In their case the original series and the spinoff. Someone should tell them to make with Galactica something like what we see with Stars Wars or with the Dune books. You have the new series and you make a mini-series of early Galactica. I'm rambling, sorry. Although I don't kow how they would explain the Apollo and Starbuck of the mini-series.
Anyway is just awesome that the movie is still on the horizon.

I think they should at least do a BG movie to close up loose ends from the original.
But frankly, how would they do spinoffs of the show(s)?

Probably from the standpoint of other people in the fleet, tell their stories, not just the warriors'.

Some colleagues and I have decided not to wait. With the success of New Voyages as a prototype, Our production team has started storyboarding and budgeting the production of our fan continuation series project. The first draft of the first episode is now complete, and I'll post it in the creativity section once I get the O.K. from the rest of my compadres. It will not be just a single story, but a true series, starting in the same place but from a different perspective as TOS, and then continuing on after HOG. There are a number of characters that are not Warriors, and have other jobs in the fleet.

JJR,
Would you rather have it posted to the Colonial Library?
If so, please PM me and I'll fill you in on the details.

I wrote my second letter to Larson and mailed it along with a proof of purchase from the tos set stating it was worth every cubit.

But epic vision and scope of the original, most of the original cast, grand space opera story and untapped potential of the TOS Sleeping Giant" BG is a MUST on all levels!!!...

Peace my fellow warriors!
