The 7 ft FLYING viper rocket!!!
http://www.galaxyphoto.com/rockets/viper8.html
WOuldn't you like to shoot off a viper into space? Well These guys are pretty awesome! They built a BIG viper rocket! And launched it! Yes, it actually flew!
That makes them pretty cool in my book! Check out the neat link!

its a horribly unaerodynamic design with no apparent steering mechanisms.
But then in space you don't have to worry about areodynamics. And Vipers follow the X-wing tradition of dogfighting in space. It don't obey the laws of physics, but dang fun. And nobody is making a big protest of how X-wings fly.

The original Galileo shuttle on Star Trek was pretty much a brick on skis.
But it did lead to a line of minivan shapped shuttles in the following Trek franchises.
