Lightbulb Ants! Ants! Ants! Terro! Terro! Terro!

Hi all!!

Have you got ants??? Wanna get rid of those pesky critters once and for all???

Well, I've tried EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. Including $40 a month professional pest control. Hey, it's great to stop ants from sharecropping on my front lawn, but no way does it stop the varmints from raiding my pantry!!!

As Mr. Trebek would say..."The answer IS...!"

TERRO!!!

This stuff WORKS, and I mean works. It comes in two forms that I know of -- a little bottle of liquid you pour a spoonful of onto a swatch of paper, and these little plastic traps that look ALOT like cheese and crackers . Both are awesome.

Just simply WAIT for an annoying black trail to appear -- then place a bit of this in its path. Ants LOVE THIS STUFF!! I mean, they go for it like nobody's business!! I think cuz it's a super sweet liquid, not a hard-to-separate-and-carry soild like most brands. And it doesn't take effect on them for about a day and a half to 2 days. By then they've brought it all back to wherever their nest is hidden, and fed it to the whole enchilada. Trust me, within 3 days, those buggers will be GONE!!! Just watch the trap/swatch to see if they consume it all early on, and keep adding more till they drop down to 4 or 5 scouts. I guarantee you, /that/ particular nest will not bother you again for months and months (and sometimes years)!!

Anywho, just thought I'd let y'all know (see? I'm picking up the slang here! ), cuz it's something we all pretty much have to deal with sometime or other, especially during the winter and rainy seasons.

Toodles!!

Muffit -

Thanks for the tip... With all the rain we've been having, I've noticed a scout or two checking out the bathrooms. Why the fracking bathrooms of all places???

I'll look for it tomorrow!

Best,
Bryan

I have some cheapie version and I swear by it. A couple of drops, and in a couple of days they dissapear and are never seen again. I ran out of it a couple years ago and went through h*ll trying to get rid of them, until I found the stuff in a mail-away magazine. I haven't seen a single ant in here since. And I have a cat.

Hi Thomas! Just checking in for a moment (had to sneak away!)

Which Ant?
It was my Ant Ymology actually
She was a real pain so we had to give her the business...

Hmm, I wonder if they have 2 languages -- Big Antian and Little Antian -- ugggh, sorry, programmer's joke, nobody's gonna get this...

Hi Flamingo! I'll bet ya that's the same stuff, just a different name (and a lot cheaper I'll bet too). Good find!!!

Gemini (up the road) and other foes of the Argentine ant:

Has anyone tried Muffits Terro in Northern California? The Argentine ant is the nemesis of humanity in this part. Every year I have to deal with ants around Christmastime. I hate to use a fogger (as an old former chemical warfare officer the ingredients seem way to close to nerve agent for my happiness) but sometimes it is the only thing that works.

I think I have the ants under control (just a few scouts here and there) in my house now but I had to give up putting ANYTHING in my kitchen sink leaving it spotlessly clean 24 hours a day.

P.S. to Muffit: Thanks for buying the site. I appreciate you giving us these forums!

Muffit, somehow I doubt you have problems making and keeping friends. Your joie de vive would prevent that.

It's that time of the year...well not really but the weather has been so nice lately that the ants have decided that it must be that time of year and have begun a mass invasion. Time to go looking for Terro
