Bsg In Sensurround
When I was a kid, I got the chance to see BattleStar Galactica re-released at the theater in Sensurround. If you never heard of it, they bring in a wall of huge speakers and it is the most intense experience.
It was like today's IMAX experience only the sound would shake the entire building.
The first movie I saw in sensuround was Earthquake. When BSG came out I had to see it.
I will never forget when the Base Star exploded at the end. It blew my hair back!

No one else got to see it in Sensurround?
I read somewhere that the DVD does have the sensurround coding. In fact I was surprised when I was just watching the DVD this week that it is mentioned in the credits.

My hometown theatre ran it through the Dolby speakers they'd built for Star Wars. It still rocked. I still remember seeing the big G rumble on to the screen the 1st time....Peter Berkos knew how to give a sense of scale with sound! I actually like it better in 70mm back in '79 than when Universal screened it on the IMAX for Galacticon.

Movies do look good on Imax such as Matrix revolutions I saw.
But it isn't quite as good as movies that are filmed in Imax from the start.

I saw it on the big 70mm screen in sensurround. That theater is now a Raley's Supermarket.

Yeah the theater I saw it in is now gone. So is the one I used to work at in High school. As a matter of fact I think all the theaters I used to go to except one, are gone now.
Sensurround was pretty wicked. I heard stories, I don;t know if any of them were true about the sound decibles breaking someone's ribs, knocking the dust off ceilings and walls, etc.
A couple of true stories, one theater broght down plaster off the ceiling and the audience thought it was part of the show and applauded!
There was another story that a Theater with a pet shop next to it, caused all the fish to die. The following day all the fish were floating in their tanks. If I'm not mistaken I think they were reimbursed by Universal.

I saw in sensurround and it was not bad.
When those Cylons fired, the whole theater shook. You really got a sense as to what it must be like in battle.

Sensurround
I remember seeing it in Sensurround. I remember when I saw it advertised in the movie section of the newspaper. It had a warning for those who were pregnant or had heart problems on being in a Sensurround setting.
But yeah I saw it it a onl movie house with just one theatre in it. The whole building shook during the battle scenes. Even in the restrooms the whole place was shaking. It was great!

would the dvd be Dolby 5.1 surroundsound?
Which should be different from the old sensurround, but will sound great if you crank up your subwoofer.
