What if Starbuck was a cylon?
That would explain why she seems to hate everyone. She's surrounded by FLESH!
Hey... we know there are about 8 models unaccounted for.

Think about it. The insane piloting skills may be computer enhanced. She not scared of dying. Some cylons don't know they are cylon.
Or maybe her attitude is just bad circuitry. SOMEONE on board galactica left that note for Adama.

That could explain the Testosterone surplus in Kara... .
But what about the bad acting?

Hmmmmm. I think Baltar is a Cylon.
At one point, Six talks to someone off camera and says something like "It's about time you got here." I assume this to be the Baltar Cylon model that will be loaded with the original Baltar's memory (most likely retrieved and transferred via the device that Six carried in her purse).
We later see the real Baltar destroyed in a nuclear blast and then we see the Cylon Baltar running in a field amongst the survivors later on.
The Cylon Baltar, once implanted with human memoires, no longer realizes that he is Cylon. For all intents and purposes he believes himself to be the original. However, there is some type of flaw in the transfer, or in Baltar twisted mind, that is causing a conflict with the embedded Cylon sleeper personality. This flaw is manifested in the "hallucinations" of Six that keep popping up.
Another consideration is that Cylon Baltar was not a sleeper agent but the humans Baltar's personality had such an overwhelming drive for self preservation that it has suppressed the Cylon programming and that Six is the representation of that programming trying to reassert itself.

That's a fascinating theory! Very twisted!
It reminds me of the Duncan Idaho ghola from "Children of Dune." I was wondering what the heck was up with that scene. It was risky for them to set up shots like that in what could be a stand-alone movie.

Jeditemple,
Yeah, I can see the Dune connection. I think Ron intentionally set up these types of mysteries so that people would debate the meaning and thus desire to see more so that they can be proven right or wrong.

Well...
That'd certainly explain Katee Sackhoff's performance. As awful as Harvey Korman was as Paul, I didn't buy for a second that he was an alcoholic. Kara, on the other hand, seemed perpetually stoned*.
*I am not trying to intimate that Katee Sackhoff is a drug addict or that she was under the influence during her scenes. All the same, Kara Thrace seemed like she was high.
