I started watching it, but found the constant commercial breaks annoying, as well as the fact it is being shown in a full-screen format. I'm gonna have to break out the Special Edition video I bought some yahren ago to watch it properly - without bloody buggery commericals...

May the Force be With Y'all!

The newest rumor is that the originals will be released in September of 2004.

Wow, last of the great trilogies finally coming to DVD! First Back to the Future after nearly 2 years of waiting, then another year for Indy, and now perhaps one more for Star Wars. I wonder why the wait?

Another year and they might as well skip it altogether and go to High Def DVD...

I should have also mentioned this release would be in conjunction with Rogue Squadron for the X Box platform.

Can't watch a movie that I have already! To watch w/comm's I hate it!
I loved watching Stargate SG1 on Showtime, it was great!!

Now that it's on scifi I have to deal with the distractions!! Same thing w/Enterprise series.:tos:

I have it on laser which was really neat at the time. Finally had to disconnect my player to make room for a CD burner, and since I have most of my lasers on DVD now (except the Star Wars trilogy of course).

We're waiting Mr. Lucas...

Star Wars DVD. Mmmm, nice...

As for SG1, I get to watch it on Sky 1 so I don't have to watch SciFi. Well I have to watch it for John Doe, which I quite enjoy. I don't think SciFi uk is run in quite the same way as SciFi US, although we do get more horror and crap than I'd like.

Lightbulb Clone Wars, anyone?

Anyone here watching the 'Clone Wars' cartoon shorts on Cartoon Network? (It's on Toonami in the UK).

All the best,

Those DVD's that are supposed to be released next year will be the special editions. From what I understand, Lucasfilm will be retooling the original trilogy once again. Some people refer to these as "the Archival Editions".

*shrugs* I just heard the newer updated ones with added scenes (not the special edition scenes only) were going to be on the upcoming dvd set... I heard that being tossed on the 501st forums.
