I'm sorry, I've tried, but I just don't see the "Hot Babe" thing...

I can understand that.

But you don't necessarily have to be attracted to them to understand that they were both casted for their...uh...attributes.

The "hot Babe" similarity is a perceived one, whether or not you really think they are truly hot babes. They were obviously casted because someone thought they were. And a good portion of the audience feels the same way.

I could say it another way.

A broad casted with big boobs and a tight a$$, with revealing outfits.

You do have a point. Jery Ryan was much better. The character of Seven wasn't intimate with anyone of the crew except Chakotay in the last few episodes of Voyager. On the other hand Number Six seems like she will be eager to please.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I have no problem with Jeri Ryan, or the Seven character. I'm not really into her look but I don't consider her to be unattractive.

Six, on the other hand...<shudder>

The similarity is the shows use sex to attract an audience in case the writing falls through. VOY waited 4 seasons, as the writing got progressively worse, before introducing a sex-kitten; BSG isn't even bothering to wait that long.

Regardless of the any similarities between the two characters, Moore apparently drew on his knowledge of ST when developing the Number 6 character. He just added some differences to show that she's not an exact duplicate. It's really not that much of a stretch.

OT--I did actually like a good many of the Voyager stories that dealt with Seven's relationship with the Borg. Those stories helped to define an enemy better than has been done in many shows that have appeared on the "small screen".

6) Robotic race at odds with humans

7) both part of a sub-group within the "collective" (6 of 12, 7 of 9)

there are folks who are saying that the similarities here are superficial. I highly disagree. The similarities are so screamingly blatantly obvious.

It's the differences that one has to go digging for which basically are nothing more than subtleties.

If six and seven were cars, they'd both be Ferraris. But one would be black, one would be red. One would have a fin, one wouldn't. One would have leather seats, one would have imitation zebra hide. But their both frickin' ferraris!

Now, if Ferrari only made models that were red, with a fin, and leather seats. Are you telling me, that if a company began producing a car that was exactly the same as the Ferrari in every way, only it was black, had imitation zebra skin hide upholstry, and with no fin, that the similarities are only superficial? Please.

8)Both hate humanity.

This is where the similarities end however due to outside interference. Janeway manages to give Seven her identity back. Now Seven is free to choose because she is severed from the hive. Seven now tries to make restitution for all of the horrors she has inflicted while under the control of the Borg
==============================================

Number 6 is a ruthless killer as shown with the baby scene. Why Moore chose this is beyond me. If Number Six was seperated from the hive she would probably not be able to function because she is a machine. Finally Six uses one other weapon that Seven of Nine never used which is SEX.
