Freedom of Speech or No Freedom
I sent this little note, along with a copy of Sandy's letter, to have posted on the Skiffy forum. Yeah, you guessed it, NOT POSTED!!

Freedom of speech is a right guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America. If this (Sci-Fi) forum is representative of that right, this TOPIC as well as the ORIGINAL TOPIC (by TwoBrainedCylon) will be posted to the forum. If not, this (Sci-Fi) forum is nothing more than a propaganda party only meant for those who agree with the direction that the Sci-Fi network is currently heading.
The ORIGINAL post by TwoBrainedCylon is NOT an attack. It offers a dissenting opinion of the direction taken with the re-imagining of Battlestar Galactica. If dissenting opinions are not permitted in this (Sci-Fi) forum then, I would submit that the forum has outlived its usefulness AND original purpose.
Please consider ALL of this when you make your decision.
Thanks in advance,

For those powers that be,
I would have given your miniseries a chance. Indeed when this idea was first introduced, I thought it was the least effective approach but was willing to see where Ron Moore was going with this. When the script was leaked, I like everyone else departed and gave up hope that this was something I could enjoy.
Rather than identify the things I had problems with, primarily the needless and offensive sex scenes, the anti-military portrayals of what were heroic characters, and the humanoid and human built Cylons, you chose to treat me, a fan, as a problem. I believe I am representative of the very sort of viewer you were looking to get.
However, you chose another path. Ron Moore contacted Milton James and he fabricated a fan base for you. Not content to just let this gaggle of fake fans promote a show nobody seemed to want to see, you have Milton, whose lying and active attacks on the fanbase are well known and being currently proven in several threads at http://www.cylon.org/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=2 , cause as much heartache and turmoil as possible. Milton has been operating under instructions from Ron Moore, as he declared early on. Consequently, this is the only media production I’ve known that is hostile to its own fanbase. If there are studio execs that don’t know what Milton has done under Ron Moore and David Eick’s instructions, its important for you to realize what has been hapenning. It will help explain why there is such hatred for this production from the very people you hoped would embrace it.
I personally asked David Eick if the leaked script was genuine and if so, if there were changes made that eliminated the most offensive things that the fans have identified. There are some of us who would still give this production a chance but only if we learned that the offensive things are not going to be included and realized that Milton James and his faked fans aren’t representative of the production you are creating.
Michael Faries (www.battlestargalactica.com) is a fair person to relate the real story of this production. In all modesty, I believe I am fair as well (www.cylon.org). Colonial Fleets (www.colonialfleets.com) is also a good avenue you could use. However, you’ve chosen not to use either of these avenues to release information. Instead, Milton has been selected as your spokesman, as evidence by his gaining advanced information above all other fan groups and media Internet sites even though many objective people are available for you to use.
If you really would want any of us to give this production a chance, I believe it is time for TPTB to step forward, tell us that Milton is not your representative, and identify someone who will answer our questions and concerns without attacking us. So far, Ron Moore and his chosen fan fabricator, Milton James, have done nothing but insult us for being fans. Is this really the way you envision Battlestar Galactica returning to the screen?
I also think there are many who would agree with me.

You said it. Propaganda Party, only interested in keeping themselves employed, and accomplishing it by parasitizing the work and dreams of others. These people would try to redecorate the Gothic Cathedrals.
