Default Me and Ellen

During DeSanto's final days, I called the Battlestar Galactica production office to determine what was going down. Michael Faries encouraged me not to do that again, and I didn't.

Until now.

Taking the advice of newtnoise in a previous thread, I called Universal Studios on their main line and got through to someone willing to connect me to the SciFi Channel. (The SciFi people were out to lunch until 2:00 PM Pacific. The line just rang and rang the first time I called them.)

Anyway, trying to sound as professional as possible, I asked if the new Battlestar Galactica miniseries had started filming. I got connected to "someone in production," where I proceeded to ask again. The response was "I don't know - let me connect you to someone who can help."

I was transferred yet again, and a woman answered "This is Ellen." I asked my question - has the new Battlestar Galactica miniseries started filming?

"Yes, it has," came the reply.

"Is the full casting information available on that?" I asked.

"Where are you calling from?" she asked.

"I'm calling from -"

And then, without a suitable answer, I panicked and hung up mid-sentence. Sorry, Ellen.

Bottom line: I chickened out. But if it's helpful, Ellen says filming has begun.

Call her back. Maybe she'll feel sorry for you and give the information on casting.

Is Ellen the "unprecedented access" to the production that Ron promised?

I know he said something about web cams and pre production art, but if the budget's been slashed, fans might have to settle for Ellen.

Those that actually care about the production can ring up Ellen and ask her to describe what's being filmed. That could be very interesting during the Baltar/Number Six scenes!

Speaking of which, on the SCI FI board, Atlantiaviper reported that they started filming the scenes with Baltar and Number Six this week.

Why don't they announce who's been cast in these roles?

Not that I care.
