I'm really debating about whether I'm gonna go to this thing.
If it's going to turn into a "Let's celebrate Mooreron's Brilliance", I may restrict my participation to some stuff for Michael.
Also, if we're going to have to suffer the presence of Raoul_Dork and a bunch of Moore Apologists spinning and gloating about their glorious victory, I'm inclined to pay my respects to Galactica from a distance...

What victory? following talentless Studios like Universal and a egomaniac writer and dirctors/producers like Ron Moore and co a victory? Not in my book it's a victory. Following sheep can be done by anyone and is a weak mind set, one they gonna regret soon enough.
Victory hah, (Remake stooge): "Yeah Ron Moore my hero he will save us happy happy ya ya" Fact is they are sheep and sheep always get slaughtered in the end so no worry's here mate let them follow idiots and be led around by their noses cos they can. Because they know no better.
Facts of life let'em learn the hard way. cos it's the only why they will learn.

They are tiny and we are many: plus where's a teenybopper going to get $$ for a plane ticket let alone more than a level 3 ticket. And why would they come, anyway? Sorry, but every plan I've seen in writing (look at the FAQ page at the galacticonevents.com web site) would almost "cordially exclude" much if any attention to the remake if it still exists at that point. Companies in dire financial straits have cut less expensive things....

Good God, no. This con is for and about the fans of the original series.

To the best of my knowledge, no again.

It is a win win scenerio for me since I am a fan of the original AND am intrested in seein how the new one turns out too.
It is prolly best that the sticks in the mud stay at home and pout tho.
that way there is less people buyin up all the good merchandise and hoggin all the actor's autograph time.
Wouldnt It be funny if after finaly seeing "the second coming" trailer totaly it changes my perspective about the Sci-Fi project.

Get your Memberships (if you already haven't) before July 31 when they go up in price again. The March 30th prices deadline has passed.

@ Crows Nest ...................
Building a Better Battlestar (to late)
Yep it's time for Galacticon 2003, announcing the fans' 25th anniversary salute to the stars, producers, writers and crew of the original Battlestar Galactica TV series.
http://www.computercrowsnest.com/sfn...s0403_11.shtml
Can it be true? It seems so.
By their command, the imperious leaders of Galacticon have just announced the 25th anniversary salute to the stars, producers, writers and crew of the original Battlestar Galactica television series.
This fan-based event will celebrate the 25th anniversary (that is to say 1978-2003) of the original Battlestar Galactica television series.
The convention will bring together original television show participants and fans together for a weekend of activities, discussions and commemorations, with a few surprises promised for sneaking in too.
The con is scheduled for October 24th-26th, 2003 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Apparently nicknamed the 'Hotel of the Stars' (hopefully not for a rickety roof for the penthouse room), the Sheraton Universal is situated on the back-lot of Universal Studios - located a couple of minutes away from the main tourist strip of the Universal Citywalk, Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and downtown LA. Rooms are normally available for booking at better prices through the Galacticon web site.
The core focus of the event is the original Battlestar TV show.
Looking at the repeats in the age of CGI it may seem a little cheesy, but hell, were we ever hooked during the late '70s. In those days Galactica garnered some of the highest Nielsen ratings in U.S. television history - a whopping 44.6 share on September 17th, 1978 for its three-hour pilot episode.
And of course, it retains a worldwide fan base which still debate episode details to this day.
The event is billed as the largest gathering of Galactica actors, producers, directors, crew and fans in one locale.
If you fancy a bit of reminiscing about whether you fancied Apollo or Starbuck (well, the girls anyway), and the chance to wipe the dust off that mail-order leather Viper pilot jacket you bought off the back of Starlog magazine in 1980, you can surf on over to www.galacticonevents.com for a membership ... available now.
