The pyramids were the pyramids of Giza. The pillars were in Luxor. The tomb was styled after King Tut's tomb with similar relics, including some carvings that were similar to those from that discovery. Given the government on the show you can infer that the Kobol folk were dynastic and developed into a Greek-like society in which each of the 12 planets acted similar to the provinces in ancient Greece.
