Please sign this petition
This is a petition to get the unchanged theatrical releases of Star Wars released on DVD. George Lucas has recently said that only the 1997 Special Editions will be put on DVD. Personally I hate the changes that were made in 1997. If you agree, please go here http://www.petitiononline.com/OTondvd/petition.html After all, as many of you already know the success of SW was a big reason why BSG got the green light. Support classic sci fi in it's purest form. Thanks.

There's one thing that should be changed in Return Of the Jedi. Get those annoying matte lines out of the Rancor scene, even if they have to replace Mark Hamill in the clutches of the Rancor with a CGI version. I can't even watch that scene anymore. Lucas should release three seperate versions of the OT. The Original version, the Special Editions, and the Definitive Version. This way, people could buy only the sets they want. I'd probably buy all three sets. BTW, I'm #94 on the petition.

I hate to say this and get a possible fight going but what good would signing a petition do. TPTB do what they want anyway. So why bother

Actually a petition by fans got George Lucas to release The Phantom Menace on DVD. He wasn't going to release any Star Wars movies on DVD until 2005. I believe we CAN make a difference.

Think about how long it took A New Hope(original version) to be released on VHS. I take it George was a little hesitent on releasing anything on VHS back then. He easily could have released ANH a little sooner than he did. Never say never.

Newer petition
I want to update this thread because I have found a better petition that has been put together by the editor of Digitalbits.com. I would like to thank everyone who signed the other petition and would ask that those same people sign this new much improved petition. http://www.petitiononline.com/OTondvd/petition.html
To avoid any confusion I have changed the link in my frst post to the new link. Thanks everybody, with your help we will make this happen.

Screw Thet! Why should we help Them?
Lucas is a Nazi when it somes to Star Wars. Yeah I know "ALL SCIENCE FICTION FANS SHOULD STICK TOGETHER!" Well where were the Star Wars fans when we needed them for support? (besides all the ones who spent the last 3 days bashing BSG over at the Sci-fi Forum). From this day forward I will never help another franchise again? I learned the hard way that each franchise consist of selfish imgrates that would stab another community of fans in the back for their own selfish gain.

I just signed the petition. I'm a Star Wars fan from day one. Actually from November, 1977. You all should check out Rebelscum.com's forums. There's alot of SW fans who are calling George every name in the book. Don't get me started on how they feel about Hasbro.

I spend alot of time on TheForcenet.com and often bring up BSG. Some of the TFN members are fond of BSG and have asked me when the BSG DVDs are coming out so they can buy them. Other SW fans were too young to remember BSG but are interested in finding out about it. Personally I don't see why anyone would limit themselves to just one franchise when there are several good ones to choose from.
