Lost writer on Classic BG mini-series *update 10/14*
The guy loves classic BG--and is writing a story that doesn't appear to be jammed in between episodes like the ongoing series is doing. (Speaking of which...where the frak is it?) Check it out and hope for the best:

Sounds interesting. I hope that the sales of the classic BSG comic will continue to support stories being told.

We get our first indicator of a post-HOG story only to be done as a "miniseries?" I guess this means the "regular" comic is going to be perpetual flashbacks only?
The one positive thing I came away from this was his acknowledgment that Galactica doesn't need new characters, because it has a strong ensemble of established characters to work with. Now let us hope he knows how to use them properly in their relationships to each other. I have to admit what I don't like is hearing all kinds of big plans for FX laden action sequences without getting any kind of tip off as to character relationships. If he is only thinking in that context then you are setting thngs up for Max Press syndrome which was to do nothing but big stuff and not allowing this rag tag Fleet to catch its breath and explore the human conditions of what's going on *inside* the Fleet.

Sounds like this guy gets it. Maybe he and DeSanto need to get together and talk shop.

Indeed Dilbertman, just goes to show everyone that even over at Newsarama fans and regular posters alike want these new Galactica comic books to do well. Coming from fans outside familiar BG fandom, its a good sign of just how many people want this thing to be a major success story.
Only goes to show us there's a whole audience waiting for alot more classic 1978 Battlestar Galactica stories with the mythology, fantasy, scope and epic sci-fi storyarcs intact once more. Besides the online fandom of Galactica fans you talk to on sites like these. There's a whole other audience out there waiting for more classic BG related material.
And this recent bit of news is about the second TOS mini series, the first has yet to hit stores itself even!

According to Diamond Distributors' online shipping list, Classic Battlestar Galactica #1 is due in stores this Wednesday (10/18/06). This won't be confirmed (i.e. a sure thing), however, until Monday evening--and titles from all companies often get delayed. You can check on the update at:
