Default Does anyone know what Yahren it would be?

Or what yahren the holocaust of the 12 worlds happened in?

I've seen some timelines (though I don't remember where anymore) and I'm thinking that it would nearly be the 8th millenium of Colonial history. Just curious if any of you have any idea of "when" it might be or even "when" the holocaust happened.

Hey Jewels!

As I recall it was very close to the end of the millenium but not quite there. I don't think it was ever said exactly what yahren it was.

7200 Current Setting of this Game.
7240 Battle of Sagitara. A lone Cylon Baseship attacks the planet Sagitara, but is stopped by the Battlestar Cerebus.
7300 Final Stages of the War
7312 Battle of Casmoro Acapellico. Fourth Fleet almost destroyed
7322 Cylon attack on Umbra, Caprica.
7327 Battle of Jol'Trata. Battlestar Pegasus badly damaged.
7330 Battlestar Galactica destroys Cylon outpost on Naytar.
7335 The Cylons destroy the Delphian Empire and exterminate all 50 million beings there.

* This date is not known to Colonial man, and only one human knows it - Baltar, after the destruction of the Colonies. It should be kept from role-playing players.

Now now, jewels... you saw Richard's Second Coming trailer.

So you know which Millenium the Second Coming took place, so that should be somewhat of a clue as to when the holocast took place, millenium wise

Millenium-wise isn't the issue, the yahren is. And hey, it's been over a year since I've seen that and I was paying more attention to GWoM. The stilletos are cool. DK's animation rocks on those.

Ok ok... see if this helps...

Apollo narration at the beginning of The Second Coming- "It was the 7th era of mankind."

So it was still in the Seventh millenium, but was probably at the very end (ie, the trailer was 1999, so it'd have been 7099 for them)

I'd guestimate that the milleniums and eras are similar to our centuries rather than our milleniums. Why? That 6th Millenium fighter. It couldn't be a 1000 years (or yahrens) old. But it could be 100 years (or yahrens) old.

So it'd probably be something like 7079 that the holocast happened

All speculation, of course.

Um, It could be 1000 yahren old fighter. The G was 500. If it was left under-used on a distant outpost, and then decommissioned down to the prison planet patrol, it could be 1000 yahren old. Colonials built good machines.

Taranus, that looks closer to the timeline I was thinking. But I was thinking 7th millenium meant all the end of the war things happened in the 6000s, not the 7000s, like the 20th century was the 1900's for us.

Hello all -

In "Saga", during the President's little toast at the beginning, he mentioned they were approaching the 7th millennium of time. Then, in "Murder on the Rising Star" during Starbuck's little IFB interview, he mentioned he was orphaned in a sneak attack in 7322. Those were to only two references of the actual date I recall, but I could be wrong.

bye now...

The design of the 6th millenium viper has always seemed to be a limiting factor on just how long ago that the millenium could be. I supposed you could assume that technology just doesn't advance very fast in the Galactica world, but I don't like the idea.

Maybe the events of the series take place very early on in the 7th millenium and 6th mil is just an abreviation given to anything constructed before. Like if someone showed up without first blow-drying and Aquanetting their hair, it would be so like 6th millenium.

Thanks Mocha, that's the date I was remembering! Just didn't know what the yahren was.
