Default Battlestar Galactica on the Mike Douglas show ?

Hi all,

I saw an odd item on ebay, that prompted me to discover that Battlestar Galactica had been a feature on the 'Mike Douglas Show' You can see the ebay aution here ?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MakeTrack=true

Could this be the source of Richard, Dirk and Lorne singing 'We Gotta Find Earth' ?

It would be interesting to know the contents of this show...

Anyone know anything more ?

Default richard and mike

If I remember correctly, it was just Richard who was a guest star on the Mike Douglas Show. I remember he was on the show wearing his Galactica jacket.
The Mike Douglas Show originated from Philadelphia, so whether Richard flew there for an appearance or Douglas had a week of shows originating from LA, that I don't know.

Didn't they all do a Merv Griffin close to the premiere?

I do remember Richard having a Bay City Rollers story and Dirk having a showing up straight from shooting Young Lords with a wet head story, I think those were with Merv too.

Ernie, I think "we gotta find earth" was written by Carlson & maybe Carlson and McDonnell for the cast's blooper reel. www.battlestarfanclub.com used to have a copy of it in their video files. The blooper credits say who wrote it.

Default Neat;

Learned something new. So you're saying that this could be connected to the rumors of a mythical BG-Musical????

Default their promotional appearances

This is what I remember:
1. Richard and the BCR were on the Mike Douglas Show in 1976 or 1977, when Richard was on Streets of San Francisco and the Rollers were at the height of their popularity.
2. Richard, Jane, Lorne and Dirk were on the Dinah Shore Show just prior to the series premiere in September 1978.
3. Richard was on the Mike Douglas Show in spring of 1979, and he wore the Colonial Warriors jacket that you see in the picture for sale on ebay.
4. Dirk was on the Merv Griffin Show probably at the same time. All I remember is that he had on a Hawaiian shirt and he said Galactica was on "hiatus." I suspect that at the time his appearance was filmed the series had stopped filming, but had not yet officially been cancelled.

The goofy "We Gotta Find Earth" and the rest of the blooper reel are on the end of the VHS videotape of the 15-yahren reunion convention. (Don't ask me to make a copy for you--I don't have the equipment to do so.)

??? I only know of that one, rather funny song (and it show's a lot of Jim Carlson's humor, if you ever talk to him), and btw Richard, Dirk and Lorne can all sing, though the recording quality sucks.
