Question Lets total the Apollo's inner struggles!

Richard Hatch mentioned in the post Michele made (http://www.colonialfleets.com/forums...ead.php?t=8352) that his character got very little screentime to play with any significant inner conflict. The kind of really meaty parts that actors love to play. You know the type where an actor is discovering the inner conflict a character has, and its play through the character's head and soul as he seeks to find a resolution within himself.

But how much was there in Galactica?

And if anyone is interested and has the dvd, how many minutes of Galactica was devoted to any great internal struggle scenes for Apollo?

By contrast, there was about 1160 minutes in the dvd box set not counting extras.

I can think of one scene, Apollo's leaving on a mission shortly after Serina died and has a conversation with Boxey where we saw some of the conflict of being a parent, but having to go off on dangerous missions, knowing that it risks Boxey losing yet another parent.

Hand of God, when Sheba confronts Apollo about their sniping. He doesn't get to say a word, but they are both shattered by the moment, the thought that they are attracted to each other--still wish that had been able to develop.

Have to check my dvd set later ,
But one that I can think off is in the first on when he hears of Zac's death short of the fleet

His loss of Starbuck in "lost planet of the gods" while scouting the endless black void, and the episode "the lost warrior" his internal conflict regarding leaving the
the boy Puppis and his mother Vella, That what I got from the last part anyway.

A fan could go though a lot of "events" that would cause a human to go through introspection and grief, but I think RH's complain is that such inward turmoil was not a heavy part of the script as written.

Sure, the character should be feeling these things, but it is not focused on very much in the show.

I think you captured what the rub in the role was for Richard, Darth.

The aspects of the character were there, there just wasn't screen time given to explore them as thoroughly as a good actor would like to. We never missed it simply because they were good at what they do and showed us enough to know that more was there than was shown.

When Adama is about to surrender to the will of the council concerning their course immediatley after the Cylon sneak attack, Apollo steps forward and offers his plan to clear the mines en route to Carilon. Much to his fathers dismay.
An interesting father son conflict.
