Default Widescreen

BTW, why can't I start a new thread under the BSG2003 forum?

Anyway, I've noticed that amazon.com STILL hasn't given a release date for the DVD they've had listed forever, but now they've listed ANOTHER DVD for December 28 (just in time to be late for Christmas, what are they thinking ). This one, however, is listed as WIDESCREEN! Was the mini in widescreen? I don't remember it being. I know that a trick like that was played with the "Gulliver's Travels" mini-series, where they filmed it full screen, and cut off the top and bottom for the DVD release.

In answer to your question, the SciFi channel did broadcast the mini in a widescreen format. It was only in a 1.85:1 format, which UPN also uses for "Enterprise". I just didn't want you to think that it was in the same widscreen format as "Star Wars" or "Titanic"

Here's an example of the difference:

1.85:1 -

2.35:1 -

I hope that explains it a bit...

Best,
Bryan

You can't post in the 2003 forums cause its for episode reviews. And since there is only one episode (the miniseries) there is only one thread to post on.

More threads will appear as episodes air. All other posts go in the main BG forum.
