In need of cheering up
Sorry I haven't been around lately but i've been kind of busy. Friday was one of those days I dreaded having. On one hand it was happy, on the other it totally stunk.
The bright side you ask? That was the news that my brother and his girlfriend are getting married next month
The darker side was that I got some bad news from back home. One of my aunts was in the hospital after undergoing quadruple bypass surgery. There were complications from it so they put her on life support as her kidneys shut down. I was in shock over the news. So I was trying to stay close to a phone so that if my mom had any new news for me I could get it right away. My aunt had a 50/50 chance at pulling through this. So there I was saturday out and about with the hubby doing some shopping and buying his gift for our first anniversary which happen to be yesterday when we left the mall and he called my mom. she told him to hand me the phone as there was news of my aunt. That was when she told me that my aunt had passed away earlier that morning.
So needless to say I had a crappy anniversary and I am still in shock over her passing, but at least she went in her sleep and she is not suffering. I know she is with Uncle Bob and they are happy at being reunited.

thanks Taranis. I am having a really hard time with her death as this is pretty much the same way my grandmother died and they were in the same hospital, same procedure with different doctors and different complications (makes one think that there is something fishy with this picture). My mom talked to my one of my other aunts and she has said that seeing she is in charge of my aunt's estate that she is going to send me, my mom and my sister something to remember her by.

My condolescenses. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. But rejoice for her, she left this world of shadows and smoke behind to be with God.

My thoughts are with you and your family, bsg. My condolences on the loss of your aunt.
And, my congratulations to your brother and future sister-in-law, and Happy Anniversary to you!
All milestones, to be sure - mostly happy ones. There's a lesson here somewhere...
Peace.
I am

thanks guys. I am getting a bit frustrated with my mother's oldest sister as she and three of my cousins are starting trouble with my mom's next eldest sister (another one of my favorite aunts) and I wish I was back home right now help her stand up to the witches and throttle them!
The to do is over the fact that the next eldest sister had complete control over my deceased aunt's estate and it was on paper what she wanted and who had control over her estate after she was gone, including who got what from her. Well my eldest aunt thinks she is running the show and has enlisted three of her duaghters in starting a bit fuss over it, so now I have to write a letter over the fact I had knowledge of what my late aunt wanted done and who had control when she was gone and get it notarized to send to my favorite aunt so that if the eldest tries to get the law involved she will look like a dang fool. My favorite aunt has already talked to the local constable back home and it looks so far like the one making the trouble ain't got a leg to stand on!

well my favorite aunt called me last night and told me its now in the hands of the constable as he requested a copy of the papers from my favorite aunt to see what was written down about who had control, which my aunt gladly gave him permission to go to the funeral home to get a copy from them. Hopefully it stops the whole thing right then and there.
Your right TopGun, my mother's oldest sister is a Class A witch (that's putting it mildly) and has come to think since my grandmother died because she is the eldest of the surviving children that she is the one who is running the show all the time. She has always been selfish

I have every sympathy for your situation. My mothers family have been badly behaved over several of their siblings passings.
I even had to go toe to toe with an uncle over an issue of a pushy aunt who was making my mother's life horrible.
It adds unwanted stress at a sad and already stressful time, and it gets complicated with how to sort out bad behaviour at a time you are all supposed to be supportive to each other.
Family.
Always love them, don't have to always like what they do.
regards, and sympathies,
Lara
