LOL The New Florida Voting Machine!

Bush Wins Florida!
October 10, 2004

With Jeb Bush as governor, and voting machine maker Diebold contributing to the Republican party, this might be what voting is like across Florida on Nov 2.

While it is true that Diebold and Sequoia voting machines do have exploitable flaws, Diebold gets the most attention in the left tilting press for two reasons:
1)No paper trail
and the real reason,
2) Diebold's chief is a Bush supporter.

One quick solution to voting modernization would be to ditch the ATM companies that offer solutions, and turn instead to the companies that sell lottery ticket machines. Each voter then has a bar-code readable reciept that reflects their choice. One copy for the voter, one for the paper backup ballot box.

I have been hearing about the evils of Diebold since the end of 2000. All the protests coming from liberal friends with more good intentions than capacity for rational thought and critical thinking skills.
Bush won Florida last time.
You can bring up how the Supreme court stopped the recount, and I will point out that they stopped the recount from having different rules for that recount in different districts.
A legal fine point that slides right over the heads of many that complain about that decision.
You can say "Bush was selected, not elected," and I can point to the numerous media organizations that did a full manual recount (the paper ballots are legally available to the public) and verified that Bush won FL in 2000.
For four years, the opponents of Bush have been stewing on this issue.
The fact that both major parties have teams of lawyers ready to dispute the election results is not a good sign for this republic.

I remember election night 2000 quite well. Living near the airport with a scanner, I was hoping to hear some Secret Service transmissions as the VP left town after giving his concession speech. But lo- it seemed then that they did not want to stop recounting until they got a result they liked.
To an objective observer, this should point out which party is really the one out for power at all costs, and will do anything, say anything, and sue anything to keep power.

Black Box voting has problems, but the real problem is political parties that want to ignore the voice of the people. I fear we will see it again soon.

Especially as long as lawyers keep writing the laws, and hanging about like vultures.
