Default Screenshot/image help

I don't have my DVDs yet (the shame), and I need some help.

In the episode "The Long Patrol", Starbuck encounters Robber who waylays him and steals his ship. The authorities catch up to Starbuck in Robber's ship, .... and we get a brief view of an older Viper-style ship.
My extensive google-fu has not turned up any images of that ship at all, and I would very much like to look at it. It is really the only canon clue we have as to what older colonial ships might look like. It would also be helpful to get Starbuck's exact line upon seeing that ship, as IIRC he comments on its age (if only vaguely).

Another image I'm seeking is a BSG toy I once owned that, again, no google image search has shown any trace of.

I have no clue what it was called anymore, but it consisted of about 6 parts that could be fit together in various ways to make different ships. There was:
1 Pilot, about 1 inch high, who bent at the hips so he could fit into a cockpit.
1 Cockpit unit very like that of a Viper, that ended just behind the canopy and had a male plug on it. (also had 1 wheel under the nose for when it was set down.) (about three inches long?) Had a spring-loaded projectile launcher in the nose.
1 Wing Unit that looked a bit like a Viper's, but was flatter and had no engines. The wings were parallel to the ground and ended in tubular pods that held a spring-loaded projectile, there were 2 wheels underneath, and it had 2 female plug connections. (only about 1 inch thich at the connectors, but the wings added another inch to it's length)
1 Engine/Weapon unit what consisted of a 2-barrel spring-loaded projectile launcher and a male plug. (about 1 inch long.)
1 Nosecone unit that looked like the very tip of a classic ICBM with a male plug on it. (2 inches long?)
1 Cylinder unit (about 1 inch diameter and 3-4 inches long) with a single wheel in the middle, and plugs on each end (1 male, 1 female).
1 Engine unit that had 4 thrust nozzles, 4 fold-out arms with what looked like solar panels or communications antennae on them, and a female plug. (2 inches long?)

The standard configuration was to put the first 3 units together into something that looked a little like a Viper, then the second 3 together into what looked like an ICBM.
This was an official BSG toy, and the only one I ever owned. I played with it long after all the stickers came off and all the projectiles got lost, and only lost track of it in early adulthood, but now I can't find any proof the thing even existed.

If anyone can help track down images of either of those things, I'd be very greatful indeed.

For the toy, you're talking about the Colonial Stellar Probe. Pop that into Google, search images and relive your childhood. They also show up on e-bay pretty regularly in case you need to find the one you lost

Heh...funny how things get around. Believe it or not, I was the one that called it a Scorpion when I built the schematics for it many years ago:

http://www.shipschematics.net/cgi-bin/bsg/bsg.cgi?ColSm

Click on "Scorpion" fighter (server won't allow remote linking to pics anymore).

I had to name it something to go in my database, and "6th Milenium Fighter" doesn't really have a smooth ring to it like "Scorpion".

So, no it is not its official name, mut it may just as well be the way it's been used everywhere nowadays!

Thanks very much for the kind words, Taranis, they are appreciated. Yeah, it's been quite a labor of love to keep that site going. I've been trying to get its final updates in play but it's been difficult to get going with so many other things going on monopolizing my time. I really hope to get some updates out there sometime this year. Just got to find the motiviation.

I use your Viper drawing for scale in my Docking bay. I was wondering if you plan on doing the shuttle ?

The shuttle is a tricky one. I have yet to see full schematics of it anywhere. I know that Lee Stringer did the shuttle in full CG along with a large number of other TOS ships for Neo-BSG. I plan on asking really-nice-pretty-please if I could get some 4-view renders from him on all his models to include in the SSDB. There are already a few out on www.galactica.tv under the "Colonials" and "Cylons" sections, but not all of them. Here's hoping...

Actually, Lee didn't make the TOS shuttle for nuBG... Titon did

Also, regarding the "Scorpion" name, see my Viper chart

Thanks very much, everyone:

Those screenshots were just what I was looking for.
Somehow I had totally discounted the "canon-YES" designation on the Scorpion schematic.
That was exactly the toy I had, and armed with its name Google popped out a few decent images.

BTW, I'd also like to see a shuttle schematic, but beggars can't be choosers. And I'm a big fam of shipschematics.net. I remember finding the BSG stuff when looking for Star Trek stuff long ago.
I'm ever so glad it's still on the web. (Or actually again, IIRC)

Hey 137th...I really like the ship schematic site. Quite impressive, and Spyone...thanks for that link to the other schematic site.

Slightly off topic...how do you capture the video images? Is there a special card you use for you computer system to grab connecting through a cable to your TV? My cousin's husband has something like that but I can't remember what it's called.

I just want to point out that it's actually the same site, I just removed the stuff that takes you to the Galactica-only parts.

I believe the term is "Video Capture Card". Has standard video inputs on it.
May also work with a "TV Tuner Card", which turns your PC into a TV.

Lastly, you may or may not require special cards if your PC had a DVD drive.

And now you know as much about it as I do.

If you have a DVD PLAYER on your pc you can download Media Player classic . I downloaded it a long time ago after look for the means to screen capture myself.

I think this is the link .

If I may hijack my own thread, there are other images I'd like to find:

In several episodes we see Vipers side-by-side in launch position waiting to take off. For instance, Apollo and Starbuck might be talking as they get off the lift and walk to their Vipers. I'd like some shots of that. In fact, what I'd really like is blueprints/sketches of the actual set, but ...

I'd kinda like to see the lift position relative to the Vipers, but the shot I am most seeking is a shot across the two Vipers and into the background.

I have read an article that says this set consisted of:
One complete full-sized mockup Viper.
One full-sized mockup missing a lot of it's parts that was also used for close-ups against a bluescreen. I've seen a photo that shows that only the top half of the nose looked like a Viper (as opposed to a open wooden frame).
One full-sized "3 dimensional photo" of a Viper.
A backdrop with other Vipers painted on it.

This is the stuff I want to see, as I am one of the several folks working out a possable layout for the landing bay, and I'd like to stay as close to what was shown as possable.
