The Warrior Pin
Remember we had the great Hito thread where he found the origin of the Colonial patch with all the little yellow triangles?
http://www.colonialfleets.com/forums...&threadid=3079
I was watching the DVD as I worked. (and got little done) but I heard the stars talking about the original warrior pin design. Well... its an US Army Intelligence insignia!
from http://www.armystudyguide.com/unifor...telligence.htm
Quote:

Branch Insignia: On a gold color metal dagger, point up, 1 1/4 inches overall in height, a gold color metal heraldic sun composed of four straight and four wavy alternating rays surmounted by a gold heraldic rose, the petals are dark blue enamel.
The insignia was originally approved in 1962 for the Army Intelligence and Security Branch and redesignated to the Military Intelligence Branch on 1 July 1967. The sun, composed of four straight and four wavy alternating rays, is the symbol of Helios who, as God of the Sun, could see and hear everything. The four straight rays of the sun symbol also allude to the four points of the compass and the worldwide mission of the Military Intelligence Branch. The placement of the sun symbol beneath the rose (an ancient symbol of secrecy) refers to the operations and activities being conducted under circumstances forbidding disclosure. The partially concealed, unsheathed dagger alludes to the aggressive and protective requirements and the element of physical danger inherent in the mission. The color gold signifies successful accomplishment and the dark blue signifies vigilance and loyalty.

In my eyes, there is no difference; And I'm amazed at how many of these "Official props" are being sold on ebay for anywhere from $6.75 to the highest bid I've seen for them at $46.00...
Heck, I have a military uniform store just down the street from me that has those pins; I could buy up a bunch to sell and make a small fortune, but there's this little thing I have called a sense of ethics that prohibits me from engaging in such behavior. However, if people are foolish enough to buy anything that is obviously overpriced just because it says BSG, SW, LOTR, etc. in the description, well, then, they deserve to get hit in the wallet...

FYI,
the Pegasus insignia are Naval Command Ashore insignia if I remember right. They come in 2 sizes, miniature (used for collar insignia I think) and the larger one which would what Cain had in the square space on his battle jacket breast. There's a site that sells those too.

Yes, the Pegasus pins are Naval Command Ashore.
Those are a great price. I've seen Galactica sites or prop sites charging as high as $25-$30 for a pair.

There is two sizes available. large for $15 and miniature for $10. and I think unlike the Army Inteligence pin this one is sold seperately for that price so you have to pay double for two.
I may just get a set of pins from them.
