honoring 911
The whole story of Battlestar Galactica is how the spirit of good people triumph can over horrible devastation. It is something that draws us to the show. It is something we deeply honor and respect.
So for this week, we will pay our simple humble respects. To one terrible day in our lives. Where reality taught us a lesson.
And the spirit of good people triumphed over horrible devastation.

It is, the way it floats against the starry background as if the memory of the tower that was is now enshrined in it's rightful place in the heavens, as a home for the souls it carried there.

Taking Things For Granted
I remember many times coming back from a trip in my younger days. I used to live in NY. Westchester County. On the GW bridge coming home one could see the towers. They were majestic and loving. Much like the Big G herself. They were a work of art to be admired. One always figured they would be there when we were gone. For naught though. They are gone. 110 stories, an engineering marvel. They will be rebuilt one day but at only 50 stories. I say they should be built at the original 110 stories as a testament to the American spirt. They can knock down a building but they CAN'T destroy our spirit. We band together stronger. Sorry for the rant.

September 11, 2001 is a day that will be forever etched in our collective memory. We remember what we were doing that day, we remember where we were when the attacks occurred, and we will never forget what happened.
The senselessness and brutality of the attacks on innocent civilians is unfathomable. What "reward" is so great that it needs to be earned by exacting such devastation on fellow human beings?
If there is any reward, it is for those innocent ones who perished. They are martyrs in the fight for freedom and the seeking of peace for one and all. They passed from our sight that day but, not from our memory and we will honor that memory by never yielding in the fight.

I went downtown today for a few minutes. Amazing, our little downtown was bedecked with memorial flags, just about everywhere. Pretty cool.
