BS2003 Cast Poster...
I just saw the just-released cast poster from BS2003, and I have to say the first words out of my mouth when seeing the cast was: "sickening"
It's the crappiest thing I've ever seen. Even those old cheesy shots of Apollo and Starbuck are way better than anything I've seen coming out of this travesty.....

Skiffy really opened their pocketbook for this photo -- bet it cost them 50 cents.
It's not a personal issue with the actors/actresses...I just thought that maybe Skiffy could have spent another $1 or $1.50 and had a starfield background or something related to the story.
Yoy, this picture looks like it was taken in someone's garage.
Well, at least they're keeping true to form: CHEAP!

A bad soap opera
Trying to be objective, and admittedly biased, even if I knew nothing about Galactica I don't think I'd be impressed with this photo.
It is very posed and badly so. Bamber just looks unpleasant. The women around him... again posed and lackluster. McDonnel (sp?) looks like someone let the home-ec teacher sneak onto the set, and Olmos looks like he's been fighting a headache when someone told him to look at the camera and FLASH shot the picture.
Cheap is correct. Even their publicity photos show the lack of money. It seems like they built one big prop and will get as much use out of it as possible. (I don't mean Bamber) Of course they keep using that Viper to make people think it's like the original.
Everything I've seen so far makes me realize the money, design and production value that went into the original.
And I must add, that although a die hard original fan, I WANT to like this miniseries. When that first viper shot hit the web I had a moment of excitement and thought it might still turn around. Sadly, the viper has been the one and only thing to bring any excitement. Everything else has sadly lived down to the expectations.
Oh, and of course Baltar and Six. If that doesn't speak volumes about this new version. Baltar's a young hip scientist having sex with the tall blonde Cylon. To believe this is how the science fiction genre is being re-invented.
Message to Ron... if you are claiming to reinvent a genre you better come up with something more impressive than this.

The more and more I look, the worse it gets. The picture says nothing we haven't already addressed. The budget of $20 million is considered cheap for todays TV standards.

I'm getting sick of seeing that bunch on a viper- I gave them a more 'appropriate' home.

The New Baltar
HE has long, greasy hair! We can't HAVE that! How could they hire him? I thought you had to have a flat top haircut to make the cut on this production! LOL
Yes, I'm obsessing on the hair thing. I just think it's hilarious that so many of the supporters and participants of this mini pick on the hair do's of TOS's cast. At least in publicity photos TOS's cast looked GOOD and they also looked as if they were happy to be there! Not like they had just swallowed something sour and disgusting. Maybe the new cast had just been told about the fans response to the mini!

Looks like they're having some kind of contest to see who can get the highest position, sort of like King of the Hill, or King of the Viper. Bamber wins, and accordingly puts hands on hips in a victorious pose.
As for Olmos facing the wrong way, there are two possibilities: No one told him that they were about to take a picture or he's giving a subtle moon to TOS fans.

I take EJO's pose/attitude is "Oh sh*t, do you have to include me in this?"
The rest of them just look miserable.

The cast picture is too much! Looks like everyone is so happy to be there... NOT. I think I saw that cast poster on E bay, with no bids. HA! HA!
I like JJ's picture it tells a story and had more thought put into it than SCIFI's, also Micheleh gave a good background for the cast.

LOL JJARKMAN.
As for the PROMO Poster ........Neither the lady who
plays Roslin or OLMOS are pulled in their best light.
It's very UNFLATTERING to say the least.

I had a dream. Well, actually it was more like a nightmare. I dreamt that I was transported to the future. A future where people wore bizarre combinations of overalls and trash bags! To make matters worse, all vehicles were made of white plastic and covered in informational phrases that stated the obvious, such as "insert driver here."
When I awoke, I realized the source of my distress -- viewing this cast poster and eating a burrito right before bed.

There's been a lot of talk about the mini being "cutting edge" and breaking new ground in science fiction, but those statements seem to be invalidated every time we see new material about the production released. This photo is an excellent example. It alsmost looks as though they hauled the viper down to the local Olan Mills and took a few shots. I'm stunned that more effort wasn't put into it, particularly with regards to the background. You'd think that any sci-fi fan with a reasonable degree of discernment would start to notice the distinct lack of quality associated with this production.

I think you're right Shatter when you say that the
statements of the remakers breaking new grounds
in science fiction are continuelly being invalidated by
the "NEW MATERIAL" about the production (whenever
it's being released). I think they're hacks pure and
simple ..............

MooreRon says...
I can't believe that MooreRon is actually saying this:
"However, while admitting that his script can be seen as a departure from the original series, Moore claims there's also an argument that his vision is more true to Galactica's roots."
Can you believe that???? He says that his vision is more true to Galactica's roots than anything else out there!!!!!! This is just sad...

I don't think Ron Moore ever read Larson's novel about Battlestar Galatica. His statement couldn't be farther from the truth!! Closer to BSG roots??? He needs to be on medication!
That man serriously has deep rooted issue problems.
