Default Been spreading the news...

Hello everyone -

This is my first original topic, so bear with me....

I've been spreading the news - on "Galactica '03". Much to the chagrin to two of my co-workers so far! (Sorry guys....)

Twice in as many weeks, I've heard the subject of the new miniseries come up at my place of work. The first time was with a friend that I know loves the continuation books that our Mr. Hatch has been putting out - I knew inevitably that he would mention G03 to me. He did and seemed very enthusiastic over it. I asked him how much he liked the original series and the books. He replied that he liked them very much and that's why he was looking forward to the miniseries - he thought that it was one of Richard Hatch's making - WRONG! I corrected him and sent him to the various websites so he could catch up The next day, he told me how dissappointed he was and was now no longer looking forward to the miniseries. He said that he would buy the DVDs and keep buying the books. I know in my heart that he's still gonna watch it and then tell me what he does and doesn't like about it...

Today was the second time - My friend Ryan, mentioned the miniseries and said he was looking forward to it as well. I asked him how familiar he was with the remake and he told me that he had just seen the promos on the SciFi channel so far. I told him that Starbuck was a girl - he said "no!" - I told him that Boomer was a girl as well - he said "No!" I asked him how he felt about human-looking, female Cylons having sex and he just turned white as a sheet and said "no........"

I provided him with all of the appropriate links and will wait to see what he thinks after he's read the script and sees what it looks like....

I know what EJO feels like when letting folks know the "truth" concerning the miniseries - but I really hate to see how they feel thinking that something special is on the horizon, but that it is really just expensive semi-well-dressed crap!

My best to all,
Bryan

Good work, Bryan!!

It's funny/strange that just by "telling the truth" about the mini, the casual fans seem to have the same type of concerns that we do. It would appear that we are not so "far over the edge" as some would like to think!

That was created by our own Warrior, aka Darrell Lawrence.

And it like fine wine only gets better with repeated viewings and time!

Default Me too!!!

Same thing happened to me at one of the pseudo Star Wars boards that I belong to. A couple of guys were talking about looking forward to the mini, then I told them the same thing about what's in store for them. The first words out of their typewriters were: "That sucks!"
