Wow Looks great. I am in the middle of a major refit of the "G" Stephen that I will post. It is much more accurate and will have a hollow bay that will open up. I look forward to seeing what you guys can do with it.
Keep up the great work

Great conversion. Both you and Darrell have made that old meshe look just great. I am putting everything into the new meshe, It will never be 100% accurate but I am trying to get it ac close as I can. It will have at least twice the detail and I hope will not fall apart in the closeups. The bays are based on Lee's piks that I have and are hollow and in pieces so an interior should be much easier. Great stuff. Have you seen Darrells?

@kingfish : Conversion is never so hard to do as original meshe a conversion use other people work to build some thing that have a nice look
@stevew : where get you the reference material to be so accurate ? how long have you to wait when you do a render with some lights ? I remember tS is a bit slow when you render big scenes

I would think a couple weeks. I have the eng and mid left to do and then slap some texes on.
Most is from Jim Creveling and the bay that Lee Stringer put up.
Size and proportions are mainly guess work. I am sticking with
the meshe you have as its proportions were OK and reduing each pieces that I have a pik of in Solidworks and then make a conversion to TS. TS6 and above render much faster. Have you seen the rest of the fleet? Fabio has made LW conversions of quite a few and is setting up a place to store them

I am so in awe of this mesh!
True..I have watched BG so many times that I can tell minor differences, but this baby still has that awesome massive feeling of the original.
Damn this was so sweet to see!!!!

That is a wonderfully generous offer. But I'm afraid my system can't handle a mesh that big! About 300,000 facets my system gets slugish and crashprone.
I'm not in your league cpu wise.

I can too make a big lot of little sub meshe files (like the bay's separated) so you can handle and post edit pictures after render

I told Claude(S-Stephen) I probably will wait on this until Steve has made a new mesh for conversion and I get a bigger cpu
I also split off the details about Steve's meshes to this thread http://www.colonialfleets.com/forums...&threadid=3680
I wanted to keep this thread on topic so moore people can comment on these renders.
