Galactica Video Game

Saw this link on another board. Had to share it.

http://us.1.p.geocities.com/mcjames70/vg.htm

It's supposedly a prequel to the miniseries, so hopefully it won't have any of the dren that's supposed to be in it.

From what I saw of the screenshots, the ships look to be top notch, and Galactica looks like Galactica. The Vipers look top notch. And most shooter games like this do not have much of a storyline to them.

So perhaps this is one that I wouldn't mind picking up.

I'll just pretend I'm Apollo and Starbuck, leading a Strike Wing against a ton of Cylon Raiders. That'll bring back memories.

Angry

They had a movie of what the game is suppossed to be like. First they used the music from when Adama is digging through the rubble on Caprica which quickly leads to the music from the original show being played as well as the original logo being shown. This is a game for the Moore show and not our beloved show. Finally, most of the effects and sounds are from TOS Galactica as well.

I edited the post because I made an error about the music from Stargate being used

The game began as a preuel to the original series Galactica.
With Glen Larson even serving as the story consultant.

The Designs even are retro to Galactica TOS not G:03.
In the G03 universe the TOS Vipers and Cylons ARE the retro designs.

Anywhoo from what i understand the deciaion was made to change a few names to keep the product consistant with the new produciton.
Which is inconsistant really since like i said a prequal to moore's would have made use of the viper designs from TOS.

Regardless, the game mechanics and such look sound. And so do the graphics. I think I can look past the writing of the backstory and play the game for what it is. Flying a Viper, and taking out Cylons.

I have finaly been able to see the trailer for this game.

If anything, the cutscene animaitons for this thing are going to be ASTOUNDING!
The dogfight animaiton from the trailer alone is amont the most kenetic i have ever seen.

I dont do console games so i wont ever be able to play it but if a wa comes out to rip the cutscenes i will get it just for them.

I've always wanted to be a Space Fighter Pilot, and I snatch up any game that I can. Gundam, Robotech, Star Trek, you know all those. This one is going to have a high place upon my collection.

The game had nothing to do with the remake until recently, but now that it's been corrupted I intend to treat it the same way I will all merchandise related to the remake i.e.; not purchase it. I've heard rumors that the man who originally wrote the game's script years ago is not at all happy with what's been done.

I didn't mean Glen Larson. Larson didn't write it. He was "consulted" but I have no idea to what extent. I have no doubt that Larson is okay with it as long as he gets paid. The game's script was written by a popular British comic writer named Grant Morrison.

the pre-vipers and raiders do move well, nice manuevers. Too bad they gunked it up with the g2003 baggage. But I'm not a gamer so... I wasn't their market for that anyway, I suppose.

No, sorry. I'm not here often enough to be a game hound. Besides, I just saw a link, and thought I'd share it with ya, since it pertained to BSG.

Thanks for the offer though. If you need an Anime guy, lemme know. :p

Let's hope this doesn't become a cash cow for Moore, enabling him to go on and ruin other shows.

Default The Game

The game is a prequel to TOS BG and not Moore's show as I mentioned in my Hatch on VH-1 thread. I saw some screenshots from the interview with Hatch which matched TOS BG. Hatch plays a character by the name of Paulus. They showed him doing the voicework.
