How much $$$ Did Tom get through?
I suppose this question is aimed at my friend Dr Cryptic.
I just wondered how much development money Tom's production spent. Some costumes were made and a bridge set built and dumped.
What's the estimated figure dear Doctor?
Regards,
Peter (Dr Doom)

jewels, you obviously don't know about the terrible accident I had in the lab one day, and my hideous disfigurement, which led to me being encased in this adamtium exo-skeleton!

So if Jewels and myself get two more members here, we got another Fantastic Four? Nah not unless Chris Columbus "Harry Potter" still wants to direct us (heh heh)
Seriously though, why didn't DeSanto's stuff come out after he had to do X-men 2? Peter raises an interesting question again. Didn't Tim Burton's Superman Reborn/Lives concepts come out, after he high tailed it out to do other projects. Unless you consider BG to be in continuous limbo with certain strings attached about it, not being able to tell or divulge any info on the previous work done.
Costumes, and bridge sets also were of interest when Desanto version was on the move during those painful no news months back in 2001. Thats something we would all like to know more of than an estimated cost although together it's all of great interest.
Do those sets exist still, didn't someone say the cobwebs are still there on them packed away in Canada? Boy when are we gonna get pictures from DeSanto production, storyboards, scripts etc. That along with any costs is more fasinating than whats about to happen soon.

KJ, the sets have definitely been destroyed.
The artwork and some costumes and design marquettes from Tom's production still exist. Maybe one day...

KJ, I believe the pat answer is "give it time" or "in time." "strings attached" wouldn't surprise me: this is the weirdest, most convoluted process! If you look at some of the documented revival history, (past 5 years) you'll see.
Tom had a gag order on him for most of his preproduction time, (IMHO: nearly drove everyone nuts), confused the fanbase; only when he got some info. out did stuff like Petition 1, supporting his production, get going. I didn't live it, I've just read a lot of sites like Kobol.com, bsg.com and bp.com. It would be really smart of someone to have stored those sets (I'd only heard they had a date with a dumpster) though why RDM would build new if they were available is beyond me.
Peter: you speak comics at a non-comic informed person, arrrrgh! *kneels anyway* *giggle* You better be saving to come here!!!

I think Toms bridge design just didn't fit in the picture RDM wants to bring across.
Remembering RDMs comments about the Colonials being afraid of high-tech and therefore using cord phones makes me think of a huge steering wheel in the centre of the bridge...

Camouflage, I imagine the new Galactica being like Silent Running, which was actually filmed on an decomissioned aircraft carrier (the Valley Forge).
