What Made Galactica
Why are we captivated after twenty five years with a show that lasted one season? The answer is simple, the show had a story worth telling and characters that made us want to watch and at the same time caused us to come back for more. Hatch's books are one of the things that keeps the show alive for us at this point. Another is the inspiration of Galactica on all of the artists who render fantastic pictures time and again. They can re-imagine it, they can destroy the premise, but the one thing they can't do is rip our memories of BG from our hearts and minds.

It's premise and settings pure and simple!
It is many things as with all series it had something that dispite comparisons to a certain 1977 movie. Must have had it's own strengths and unique appeal and identity to last 25 years and still be fighting to be revived. It left a lasting taste in the mouths of sci-fi lovers and casual folk wanting more so here are afew reasons why?
The Characters
The Saga
The Battles
The Ships and vessels
The Cylons
The Reverse Mythology (i.e. We came from the stars not Earth?)
The Space Battles
The Concepts Presented
The list goes on.

Well, technically there were 2 kinds of battles. Ground & space: Gomoray, Carillon, Arcta had good "ground" battle sequences or at least exchanges of fire. The Hand of God and The Young Lords had espionage type missions in them. You weren't wrong on a techie level.

I loved the Viper launches and the space battles no matter how much stock footage they used.
