There's a lot of stuff out there that I recognize and like, but I don't know who does what anymore in the pop genre. I like country except when it gets too formula; Alan Jackson and Shania Twain, and of course Garth Brooks, come to mind as names associated with songs I like. "Friends in Low Places" ranks in the top 1% of songs, IMHO.

But while I don't usually buy CD's anymore, and never have gotten into the world of iTunes or any of the online services, more likely than not there is a Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, or Beatles CD floating around in my car. In my mind, Joel was like many musical masters...simply a genius, and pretty eccentric in a down to earth kind of way.
