We had what was probably the most beautiful movie theatre in the state. Chandeliers, you name it. Biggest screen I'd ever seen except for IMAX which came later.

And then Rocky Horror came to town. Ran for months, every night at midnight (sadly, I never went, really wish I hadn't missed it). By the end of the run, the screen was destroyed and the theatre in shambles. I don't think they ever really recovered. It closed about a year later.

I finally got to see it on TV, but I know it's not the same. When ST IV hit the theatres it was like a roller coaster ride in the audience as we waited for the film to start. Maybe that was kinda what Rocky Horror was like(?)

I think it's neat when stuff like that come out and people just have fun socially without all the "invisible barrier" nonsense. We as a society need more events like that to realize how much fun it is just to be alive, and be happy we have others to share that joy with.
